you are probably right. Just did a google check, it said Austria, but might be assembled in USA. More research.

Hasn't changed any, my son wrote a paper for College English last year on the futility of implementing gun control laws with 300 million firearms already in the US. Was told it was an inappropriate topic, and given a "C". I read it, and it was B+ to A- material. Good structure, excellent documentation , etc. etc. Teacher wouldn't put her comments in writing. Because she knew she was letting her personal bias affect his grade, and she didn't care. Wife and son talked me out of making an issue out of it. He did learn that academic free speech is just so much bullpoopy.

Austria, but both my 1911's were made in the Phillipines, the Springfield XD is made in Croatia, and my Sig Sauer is made in New Hampshire, and my new FNH is made in South Carolina. The name on the weapon doen't tell you much any more about where it's made. Glocks are a fine pistol, I just don't like striker fired pistols. But there are reasons all those law enforcement people carry them. Two of the most reliable pistols I ever had were made by Astra in Spain. They were blatant imitations of Sig Sauers, but priced about $275 each back in the 80's. They actually beat Sig Sauer to the punch with a double stack compact 45 acp back then. It held 10 rounds and still shoots very well for the first magazine. Then it's flaws came out. The barrel is too thin, it heats up and its groups widened out. I had a 9mm with the exact same slide but a thicker barrel to fill in the space, and it didn't suffer from that problem. Thats what I could afford back then. Sold them since.

Doc if that is your CC, At least I know your bringing enough gun to any altercation you may get into.

The tactical model comes with a 5.2 threaded barrel and night sights for an extra $500. I don't have a stamp application in for a supressor, so I am hoping FN will eventually offer the threaded barrel as an accessory if I decide to get a suppressor down the line. Problem is, the tactical model has real limited holster options right now.

Pressure cooker canned salmon, and venison canned in its own gravy. Damn, I am drooling!

Thank you gentlemen. I have a set of Ameriglo Tritium night sights on order for it as well as a Blade Tec FNX pistol pac. That includes a Kydex Holster that can be used either as a paddle holster or a belt holster, along with a twin magazine carrier with the same ability. I will try to do a report on all three.

It came today. I had to really search to get the Black Slide/Black Frame model, as FNH now only has the FDE/Black and the Black/Stainless steel slide combination. My initial impression is this thing is a beast! Not Desert Eagle size, but No CC unless your 6'6" and 300 pounds. I have size XXXL hands, and this pistol fit them like a glove. It comes with three different width backstraps to tailor the fit. Interesting that it has a safety AND a decocker. So you can carry it cocked and locked ala 1911, or decock and carry it hammer down like a Sig Sauer. Your choice. Weighs 33 pz empty, As the magazine holds 15 45 acp, it will be a load. It comes with 3 magazines. I will be trying to get it out to the range next week to give a full report.

God's country. Wife's Grandad had a cabin up in Stanley Basin.

A little over 45 pounds. You guys have that size in Ponderierry, Chelan, and Yellowstone. Here is a picture from my friend of one netted out of Yellowstone.

Mags you got some really nice lakes out there in Idaho as well. I know a commercial guy who is working to net out the Lake Trout population in Pondierrey where they have become a pest. But Superior has its hooks in me in a big way. We have had our fire problems in the past as well. See pictures A big Superior Lake Trout and some pictures from a 60,000 acre fire two years ago. But it is home, doubt I ever leave now.

The Hollies! A long time ago.. If you have a portable air filter for the house, run it, otherwise think of getting one. I know you were out in the thick of it Mag, but our lungs aren't as young and clear as they used to be. Any little help helps.
