  1. So how soon can I ship you parts? :D
  2. Yeah, I wasn't sure about using that vs using some of the battery powered electrical ones. Probably the damp rid is easier and cheaper :)
  3. yeah, if i'm going to carry something as big as a 1911,, its going to have a barrel I can at least fit a pencil into :)
  4. yeah, this one came from tractor supply. We'd been trying to work out getting me something bigger/nicer like one of the larger brownell ones, but the company is kind of tight on cash and couldn't lay out $2400. At the same time, my old safe was tiny and really only "safe" by way of obscurity, I could get into it with my pocket knife and 10 minutes :D So I needed something better and we settled on this for now. Actually picked it up at tractor supply ourselves, wheeled it in with my appliance dolly. I'll be anchoring it to the floor this weekend. I could probably fit a good 4 more rifles in there on the left side if I organized it halfway decently, and nothing on the right really needs to be inside the safe :) so I could put more long guns there. Oh and exciting as well, I traded some AR15 parts for some new scopes, so the 308 there in FDE now has a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x42 scope on it, instead of no name Chinese 3-9x50

    Heinlein

yeah, I've been following the navy rail gun tests, that poop is scary
  6. I've got one of these in .223 and its a joy. its a savage, police sniper model. they made it in 308 as well. I was shooting out the x in the center of the target at 100 yards with it.
  7. I've got the TRX MRF on mine, its perfect other than no holes line up with my adjustable gas block :P which is mostly the excuse to switch to a Syrac when I have some spare $$ :)
  8. Welcome from FL
  9. I've had doves build nests over my outdoor speakers :P
  10. here in florida, if they're on private property you can do whatever the hell you want with them, no license, no seasons.
  11. Shadow Ops Weaponry paid for it. Its not much compared to what I bet some of you have, but its way better than what I was using. I've been trying to save for one, but have literally had over $7000 now in vet bills over the last 3 months across 3 of my dogs, one of whom had to be put to sleep(although I set up a donation thing that got me enough to cover the one dog's surgery, but that's another topic)
  12. yeah, I seriously see far more likelihood of harm using these. Granted 30-80 ftlbs isn't really a ton, but still
  13. my correct adapter for putting the silencer on my 1911 showed up today. its a horrible pity I won't have time tomorrow to hit the range. I need to see if they're open Monday :D
  14. yeah, but that's on Armalites ;) it really is all I use either. in your hand, it just feels totally right. gloves or not, it has the most even feel of any of them. my wife wanted as precise a replica of her M16-A2 as she could have so she's got a crappy old charging handle, I can't stand to touch it :D

    Coming Soon!

the manufacturer is pretty close to my house actually (Serbu)
  16. I haven't shot it yet but its looking like it will be fun :D
  17. I'm going to suggest the Rainier arms Raptor before everyone else jumps in :D its probably the most expensive, but it is truly 100% ambi, and looks good as well
  18. Yeah, i'm guessing his builder was shall we say mentally challenged :D
  19. I think what happened with Red-x is similar to what happened with a lot of other gun companies. they overextended themselves during the crazy time after newtown last year. So they rushed products, lowering quality, plus ended up with huge backorders and didn't have the customer service personnel to stay in contact with customers enough to keep them happy while waiting.
  20. yeah, I certainly wouldn't go through getting it cerakote / kryptek. Cerakote everything the base color, then hydrodipping over. or cerakote it the base color, and then use other spray can type paints for the accents.
  21. look again the 7.62 go gauge is larger than the 308 no go, and only 3 thousandths short of the field gauge. Its definitely possible for your chamber to be inside of specs for a 7.62 - say 1.639" - which would still close on a 308 field gauge. So more important than barrel builder, we need to know what was the barrel actually chambered for? What is it marked as? and which gauges did he use.
  22. that's the only reason I liked Clinton. I do prefer the president to be of the other party than what controls congress. Heck if the Republicans take the senate in 14, I may be forced to vote Democrat in 16 ;)
  23. What I find even more amazing than this is that they want to make it illegal for employers other than the federal government to use criminal background checks for employment purposes
  24. I dunno, but that's 4 pistols per state, and less than 1 shotgun per state. It isn't too hard to believe that they'd have that many internal enforcement officers to need that many. if it was 4000 pistols and 2000 shotguns, i'd feel differently of course.
  25. well, if you ever need some AR parts 308 or 223 and want to trade some of your excess glass off, let me know :D I almost put a tru-glo red dot on my son's airsoft shotgun but its battery is dead
