    CZ 455

Most seem to report that they shoot excellent right out of the box. But of course I cant leave anything alone I have to molest it lol Also apparently because of the way the barrel attaches to the receiver this setup really benefits from being fully bedded all the way down the barrel. I'll probably end up with the final result we'll just see what road I take to get there. Thanks for the input

    CZ 455

Ive been reading about taking the cheapest 455 you can find and parting out the barrel and stock, (maybe a 22 mag or 17hmr barrel for others to have a change out.) Keep the remaining receiver and new found cash from selling parts and then bolt up a lilja barrel and aftermarket stock (possibly a manners) and you would basically have a precision trainer model with a nice barrel for less money in the long run. Anybody pull this off?
  3. Ive always done .630 on both platforms without any issues. This pic is a DPMS pattern. If you need any dimensions or have any questions feel free to shoot me a PM. Ive also got the "other" platforms hole locations if needed.
  4. Welcome from RI Scorch. Looks like you are off to a great start! There is no substitute for the satisfaction you get by building your own.
  5. there are no words
  6. I figured youve been cranking given the pictures I see you posting on Instagram. Your not missing much over here.
  7. Nice find. I think those two parts right there (along with gas block) are to an AR-type rifle as a 4-barrel carb and ignition timing are on an old small block lol
  8. in full auto ready to rock
  9. In CT how would an 80% fall into this? If there are no number you can not prove "manufacture" date. Or is that not even an option?
  10. I know you said dont say it, but for a scoped gun you cant beat it. and at $50 on this deal you can buy two
  11. http://www.thepelicanstore.com/ Got it here last time I ordered. If you search on how to make a hot wire foam cutter from doorbell transformer you'll be cutting it up like a pro!
  12. may be a little more than you want to spend but you cant beat a pelican for a hard case. A 1720 should meet your 38" requirement with a 42" interior. http://www.lapolicegear.com/pe17ca1.html?gclid=CIG-5fKQ48sCFQdqfgod6cUBnQ I recently added some kaizen foam inserts to my 1750. I cut different inserts with a home made hot wire cutter so I can have lots of configurations with one case
  13. and of course we've all seen it but lets take a look at it again shall we......
  14. that pin doesnt look right. Most I have seen look like this
  15. When that bolt slams home and chambers a round it is very common to see a "light primer strike" just from the firing pin getting thrown into the primer from the bolt slamming shut. when you fire a round and then it picks up and chambers another is your hammer getting reset? edit: Also can you manually lock your bolt back on the bolt catch? Does one round fired on an empty mag lock back the bolt?
  16. Sounds like you could either be 1. Under gassed--- possibly a misaligned gas block and or blockage or a severe leak. (your pic looks like it has the correct length tube, allowing full penetration into the gas key.) 2. Possibly an incorrect Buffer tube, buffer, and or recoil spring ? Is the rifle picking up and chambering the second round? or just not coming back far enough to grab a round? Also what trigger is installed?
  17. Figured you would get a kick out of knowing the proceeds from your mono pod went directly to Larry.
  18. lol Right? that would probably work pretty good
  19. one size fits all for $35 lol
  20. Agreed. I dont understand any advantages to this format if any?
  21. No worries. For reference on a standard 5/8"-24 thread pitch one degree of rotation works out to be .00011" that may help you out when it comes to calculating shims instead of guessing. Good luck!
  22. If you want to ship me your barrel and brake Ill time it for your with no shims or washers at all.
  23. Glad to hook you up! Now get out there and play with it.
