I would probably just snug the barrel nut up with my 18 inch channel locks, to where the gas tube notch looks good, wet her down with some Mobil1-10W30, pick up a 20 round box of Federal Gold Match, a12 pack of Budwipper lite, (after I drink a few of the Budwipper lites) I will have something to shoot at and head out to the goat pasture! SAFETY FIRST and SEMPER FI Bro!

I just called my companies sales office in Dallas and asked for 4 tickets to take a good customer to the game and they sent them.

The Giants played the Cowboys in the Cotton Bowl before the almost domed Texas Stadium was built. They played at least one time each year. I took a customer and his wife to a late season Giants vs Cowboys game. Fran ran all over the field. Men in suits and tie (Company dress code) ladies in dresses, hose and heels. It snowed off and during the game as a blue Northern blew thru early in the first quarter. The Giants won, we left late in the 4th quarter, nearly frozen. My wife stills tells me about it often.

Okay so after you know this distance, what is the math for say a 4.00 inch distance that you add to the lever arm? Do you use the ratio between the original wrench drive to the wrench torque point, and that distance added to the length of the Armour's wrench. Say the distance is 10 inches for my wrench. that would be a ratio of 14:10 or 0.714 or you would set the wrench to 35.7 inch lbs to get 50 inch lbs? is that correct?

I worked some oil wells in that area back around 1962. Now they have the wind chargers! Looks like a good place to shoot.

He may just be waiting on a reasonably serious answer he can believe in.

No, in fact that mag will probably work for .243 Win.

Are you gonna eat that big ass fish yourself?

A good trigger is a big factor in accurate shooting, as well as having a stable mounted scope. I hope you get better results on your next range trip.

By the way it probably would be a good idea to use nylon bore brushes with Hoppes Benchrest 9Solvent. I use a brass bore brush because I have a large supply of surplus 30 cal brushes I got at an auction. The solvent still attacks the nylon brushes brass core. If you want to make them last longer clean them with brake cleaner or lacquer cleaner.I don't oil the bores for storage I just run a patch damp with standard Hoppes#9. I like it and just love that #9 smell. it don't seem to attract dust

Okay don't forget that your first experience with the rifle, scope and ammo was great. Changed out the scope for a red dot and shot 200 rounds of plinking ammo. then took off the red dot and mounted the scope back on. tell us about the scope. Brand and fixed power or variable. where did you store the scope this summer? I ask because I took a Redfield 3200 target scope off my wife's Anshultz .22 rifle and after a off season I remounted it and surprise! the crosshairs had disappeared while stored in a gun safe in the garage. I agree your choice for a mount isn't my choice. There are many adequate mounts to put the scope above the rail on your DPMS rifle. I prefer the Burris rings. each ring has six machine screws holding the scope tube. First tell us how you went about cleaning the bore after shooting the 200 rounds. I would have tried cleaning the bore with Hoppe's Benchrest solvent, after getting the powder debris out of the bore. Hoppe's Benchrest Solvent is a copper removing solvent. I use it in any target rifle shooting copper jacketed bullets. You have to be careful using it on a brass brush, put the solvent onto the brush, never dip the brush in the bottle, the brass brush will contaminate the solvent quickly and the solvent will ruin your brush. After using a brush and patches with regular Hoppes to get the powder crap out of the bore, put some Hoppes bench rest solvent on a brass bore brush one push thru, use a patch on a steel rod push the patch thru the bore and then wait at least 30 minutes, and run a clean patch. it may go rough and come out super nasty. do several patches and a solvent on a brush ect.,ect.until it looks like most of the copper is gone. Remember to keep the muzzle of the rifle downhill and the gas port up on top to keep from getting a lot of solvent and crap into the gas system. Remember that you need a clean bore, but also that brush and solvent also does do some wear on the bore. Just My Humble Opinion, for what it is worth.....

I wondered how you and yours made it thru the storm. Sounds like it got a bit tedious. Glad it is over and you are safe and sound.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

I am sure that the store has 7.62X39, I'm just not interested in those. BTW it is 100 miles from here to an Acadamy and 40 miles to a Walmart, and that is just how I like it. Being a member of Amazon Prime and Midway USA let's UPS do the walking, free shipping saves gas and wear and tear on me and my daily driver. Now with all that we do have a county hospital and clinic just 5 minutes away, and a local Tractor Supply. plus a small Mexican cafe that gives free margaritas (no liquor license) here at the lake. God bless the internet. I plan to vote, buy some gold, and live the good life as long as I last. -

I checked at our grocery store in DeLeon and they stock 12,16,20 and .410 shot shells .22 LR, .22 Mag when they can get them, .223,.243, .30-30, 308, 3006, 7mm mag. 300 mag. that is all I worry about. not a gun store a GROCERY STORE, right next to the huge assortment of wine. The beer is back in the coolers. Ha! Folks around here are not folks to mess with, specially when they are stoked up with baby back ribs and WINE! -

Well more shocking news. As a active duty Cpl. in the USMC I did shoot my personal owned M1 rifle two years in a row for my annual rifle qualification.

I bought a house like that once, fixed it up on a limited budget. We took up payments on a $12K VA loan, made 2 back payments and moved in, 30 years @$110 per month 3 Br bath and half cent heat Swamp cooler on top, single garage. 15 years later we sold it for $48K

Fulton does an amazing doing the M1, you will really enjoy shooting it. I thought i needed to get the M1A NM before some politican changed the US Supreme court and messed up the 2nd amendment and caused a civil war. I loved my old M1 but so did my 50 year old son.

I was surprised when the gun shop owner opened the cardboard shipping box! This is a good touch with an Inside pocket for literature ,a outside zippered pocket for 3 magazines and a cleaning kit. The literature was excellent and included a good discount order sheet for M1A accessories (magazines) etc., a one time deal for new owners. After I shoot it awhile I will strip and Tru-oil the stock. The rifle looks good with the new old stock M-1907 leather rifle sling. The sling is stamped with a manufactoring date of 1977. I still like the looks of Jacob's Beaching slings and the way they work, and may order one, if I can decide what color would look best. Comments Jacob or anyone?
