  1. Heman Whalen, 88, fondly remembers his time hunting with Johnny Cash in Newfoundland in October 1961. The story was never told for decades, but is now being shared thanks to never-before-seen photos. (Gavin Simms/CBC) Heman Whalen, left, and Johnny Cash hunting for moose near Millertown. This photo is dated Oct. 11, 1961. (Newfoundland Photos Courtesy Jonathan Holiff and Glen Chaytor) Heman Whalen jokes it took Johnny Cash ten-times longer to field dress a moose than it would for him to do it. (Newfoundland Photos Courtesy Jonathan Holiff and Glen Chaytor) Johnny Cash and his manager, Saul Holiff, in Badger. Photo dated October 1961. (Newfoundland photos Courtesy Jonathan Holiff and Glen Chaytor) Filmmaker Jonathan Holiff said his father, Saul Holiff, and Cash had just finished a 10-date tour in Ontario in May 1961 when they started talking about hunting. "Cash was an excellent hunter. My father hated the idea of hunting, but hoping to impress Cash, he suggested they travel to Newfoundland and hunt and do a small tour," Holiff told CBC Newfoundland Morning. It wasn't until years later that a stash of memories from the trip and the years Saul Holiff and Cash worked together were discovered. from- https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/newfoundland-labrador/johnny-cash-moose-hunting-newfoundland-1.5755497
  2. UPDATE scource- https://bc.ctvnews.ca/police-not-to-blame-in-shooting-death-of-surrey-teenager-watchdog-says-1.5149027 Highlights- A watchdog investigation has determined police were not involved in the recent shooting death of 17-year-old Jackson Diggle. But the watchdog concluded the teenager's death was "not the result of any actions or inaction by police." "Before the vehicle came to a stop, the young man fired two shots, both of which struck the front of the police SUV," the watchdog said in a news release. "Immediately after firing at the police vehicle, the video then shows that the youth turned the gun on himself." The most curious sentence It's unclear whether an actual robbery took place, but the IIO said it was Diggle who called and filed the police report.

The announcement wasn't a well kept secret. Covid numbers are up back rast and he is all about fear mongering and saying you can trust his government to save you I know I'll learn more in a weekend shadowing you then I would in 100 hunting trips on my own. I'll look into what I need for an elk tag in Idaho but even just being in the mountains, well I see that as a win
  4. Well when you hit 86 just remind yourself you are now 43 twice over... Happy Birthday Sketch

Well once they open the border to regular travellers I'd be more than happy to tag along on one of your hunting trips to do the packing and heavy lifting just for the education.

  9. First and foremost the politicians as they do what they do for our benefit and any personal gains are just a fluke.
  10. Well we do need a real constitution not the piece of political pandering crap we got stuck with in 1982... yes 1982. One of the things I admire about the fore thought of your founding fathers is the system of checks and balances between the President,Congress and Senate. Our constitution was written by a government already in power with a strong federal central government leaning and not so much on individual rights.
  11. So police get a call(2 AM) that someone with a knife in a strip mall is threatening/trying to rob people. As the cop car pulls up the suspect pulls out a gun and takes a shot at the police, then shoots himself. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/bc-police-watchdog-investigating-robbery-suspect-turns-gun-on-self-1.5755425 RCMP say the province's police watchdog is investigating an incident in Surrey, B.C., that led to one man being seriously injured during an alleged attempted robbery. Officers were called to a business in the 15900-block of the Fraser Highway just after 2 a.m. PT Thursday, where, according to the caller, a man was trying to rob people at knife-point, according to an RCMP statement. When police arrived at the scene, the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and shot at an officer who was still seated in a police vehicle, it said. The suspect then shot himself, the statement said, and he was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The officer who was shot at was not injured. The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. was notified and is now investigating what role, if any, the officer's involvement played in the suspect turning the gun on himself.
  12. IP Assets = Intellectual Property so I'm guessing any R&D related to ammo
  13. Probably fall under the Geneva Protocol discussing the Prohibition of the Use in War of Asphyxiating, Poisonous or other Gases, and of Bacteriological Methods of Warfare rather than climate change due to its more localized effect.
  14. The earth has evolved and changed and will continue to evolve and change with or without humans. Seems the polar ice caps haven't always been there and there has been more than one ice age.

  21. Buddy was working up north and in camp for about a month. On the way back to civilization boys are flush with cash and the talk is about girls and booze. Part way into this the lone French Canadian pipes up( with accent) that first thing he's doing is finding an ugly chick. There is stunned silence and someone points out he cleans up ok, flush with cash and the accent will help him. His reply " I'm not going to waste a two stroker on something good looking"
