Just saw this. That's great! The last time I wore a badge (back in the 70s) the best I could come up with was a slightly small second hand Second Chance vest. Thankfully, I never had to find out how well it would work. Hope you never have to find out about yours, either.

Exhail, not sure if I agree 100% with your reasoning, but I do agree with your conclusion. And as for what weapons "we the people" were supposed to have the right to arm ourselves with, bear in mind there were no restrictions of any kind in the Constitution. What the Founders intended, as I read it, was weaponry suitable to oppose a tyrannical government. Or, as one of the characters in Robocop put it, "State of the art bang-bang!"

I know the drill. My last best friend (other than my wife) was a cat. I know. Who would have thunk it? But I came home from triple by-pass surgery, hurting like hell. I sat down in the recliner, and the cat climbed up on me, laid across my chest, and purred the pain clean out of me. Sometimes, it seems like they know what we need better than we do. Some years ago, saw a Weather by .460 Magnum at the LGS. Had 19 rounds to go with. LGS owner said he sold 2 of them. Buyer of this one fired one round and brought it back. Too much to handle. Buyer of the other one told LGS owner he'd fired one round also. Now he's suckering other guys to do it. Won't shoot it again himself though.

I've tried to do my research, but the newest info I could locate was from Magwa's post 3 years ago. I'm putting together a "dissy" on a DPMS G2 MOE with a .750 barrel mating surface. I'll be running the MI 15" MLOK rail, and I want to use an adjustable gas block. I know I don't need to use one, but I want to. The MI rail has a 1.3" inside diameter, with a .4" gas tube channel. So far, I see the SLR Sentry 7-S set screw will fit, as will the Seekins Precision Low Profile Adjustable (thanks to info from Wash ). The SLR Sentry 7-S has a distance from bottom of the barrel to bottom of the block of .17" and the Sentry 7-C clamp on has a distance of .21" for the same measurement. Interestingly (to me, anyway) SLR recommends using the 7-C only for rails with an ID of 1.35" or larger and the 7-S for anything smaller. I'd prefer to use a clamp on block if I can so I don't have to worry about the existing A2 block pin grooves and the set screws of the new block. Also, I don't have a drill press and I'd hate to f-up the barrel with a hand drill. So, anything anyone can suggest would be welcome. Thanks!

Sympathies. I got my tinnitus in 1968 on the flight deck of the Coral Sea. Somebody apparently needed my hearing protectors worse than I did. Unfortunately, flight ops don't stop just because you aren't equipped. Like they say in the theater, the show must go on! Another 50 years of shooting since then hasn't helped.?

Okay, I'm a relative newbie with the black rifle. I've used them a bit, a long time ago, but never had to monkey with repairing or adjusting them significantly. So here's my issue: I bought a new DPMS MOE model. Sighting in, it was shooting to the right by about 6 or 8 inches at around 50 yards. I cranked the rear sight (Magpul BUIS) all the way to the left and got it to hit about 1 or 2 inches to the right, still at 50 yards. So I took some masking tape, put a couple of pieces on the handguard at front and rear, set my combination square to give me a line near the center of the handguard, then marked it off on both left and right sides, front and back. Then I laid a straightedge on the marks and took some pics. As far as I can see, the front sight is way off to the right. If this was a bolt gun, I'd just drift the sight over and get it lined up. But I don't want to screw up this rifle before I've had a chance to really get to know it. So, any help you guys could offer would be most welcome. Pics below. I know the pics don't show the rear pieces of tape, but trust me, the straightedge is aligned properly.

I watched the video and I thought there was too much time between the push down and the shot fired. And I thought about it, for a couple of days. Then I realized that I was bringing my training into the scenario, the training that says "keep your f'ing cool, no matter what," and I thought again: that man on the ground may not have had the same kind of training I've had ... he may be like so many I had to deal with, the ones who were scared to death for a long time after they were assaulted. If that was the case, then he probably was in fear for his life. Hard to know, without being inside his head.

I agree with this, as long as we remember that you have to be ready, willing, and able to effectively USE that gun if necessary. Simply carrying it and showing it is not a guarantee of effectiveness. I know you didn't say that it was, I just think it's something that needs to be said.

God knows I loves me some vertical takeoffs. Ain't nothin' like watching an F4 Phantom hit the end of a 10,000 foot runway and just set on its ass. The ground shakes and that fucker goes straight up until its not only out of sight, you can't even hear it any more. But this film is spliced. The plane takes off then banks left. The landing gear is retracted. Then, in the next shot, the landing gear is still down. Is this the same aircraft, at the same time? Not sure, and the perspective from the camera makes it impossible to tell what's going on.
