  1. Have fun, be safe.
  2. I'd advise you against tap dancing in that particular minefield.
  3. No so much that as complimentary to the purple jelly dong.....
  4. The wrinkles make the flavor better, and keep you from blistering your tongue.
  5. It's safe, shoot all the .308 Winchester you like through it. It's not a mil-surp with a ton of wear and questionable metallurgical integrity, which is where you actually have to nitpick about such. Go enjoy your rifle with the round it was designed for and forget the naysayers that are trying to propagate outdated and irrelevant information.
  6. About every 7,000 rounds or so.....
  7. Obligatory "run it soaking wet in oil" post.
  8. The money that very advice could've saved me... Mein Gott...
  9. Just a word to the wise or the uninitiated, soft-point ammo is poorly suited to use in large AR platforms. Your results may vary and you may well be the exception, but make your purchasing decision from a well-advised standpoint. That said, I'd expect this stuff to do excellent in a 308 bolt platform, so props to the OP for posting up the deal.
  10. As the forum chaplain I have withheld comment in order to address the issue from a place of spiritual placidity and mental calm. It didn't work.... WTF were you thinking Doc?!
  11. Just for future reference, new threads shouldn't be posted in the "Contests" section. I'll move it.
  12. I'd advise chest waders at a minimum, and a snorkel would serve you well too....
  13. That was good stuff though, as soon as I knew how much I was missing by I got a few on target. Now that my pride has recovered somewhat, I'm a bit more excited these days about shooting in difficult wind conditions.
  14. In my defense, I was somewhat taken aback that anything environmental could account for a miss on that scale given your shooting talent....
  15. I was thinking of when I had the MA-TEN at the 1k @ Poverty Tank, we're out there shooting, the old Vortex isn't showing me any splash, and the wind was going 30mph in whatever direction won the coin toss. Good times! A bad day on the range beats a great day in the office hands down.
  16. I love wind, it makes everyone suck in equal measure... 😅
  17. The ejection pattern for large frame ARs work like this: Does the brass clear the ejection port? Yes: Good. No: Fix it. All that 1,2,3,4 o' clock BS that folks obsess about on small frame is irrelevant. If the brass is clearing the gun without causing malfunctions, it's good to go.
  18. Done, followed the link & jumped through the hoops!
  19. By clicking the link and completing a minimum of one action, the odds of winning are increased. Go sign up to win it and post your link too, I'll do the same for you! https://wn.nr/yCA3qg It's Primary Arms btw if anyone is concerned with such trivial details....
  20. Not gonna lie, I laughed so hard I might've peed myself more than a little...
  21. You don't want to throw ANYTHING from an AR-15 into this platform. Nothing. You might get away with the trigger group, maybe. Don't put an AR-15 buffer in a large AR, period. Or... Run with scissors and document the results so we can all have a good belly laugh about it later.
  22. It's a pretty common trope around here to lament the lack of a unifying standard for large ARs as compared to their small frame counterparts. It's a completely different animal and it's not uncommon to learn that the hard way. At least you found the means to get your issues sorted out quickly & correctly.
  23. Yes, you can use the buffer tube you have. Definitely buy the Armalite buffer and spring together, from Armalite if possible. If not, get what you need from Clint @ heavybuffers.com and you'll be set.
