  1. Just beware of the one called "Tom"... He will have you selling your soul for surplus rifles and midget strippers before you can blink.
  2. Welcome to the forums! I hope you have a good bankruptcy lawyer... <laughs>
  3. That was awesome! That dude has moves for sure. Reminds me of when we were kids playing "trampoline dodgeball", you had to be able to anticipate the timing of the attack and maneuver in midair. Fun stuff!
  4. Trust me brother, we're in the same place on the money issue. I have yet to buy an upper end rifle, that'll have to wait for when my shooting technique is good enough that my equipment becomes the limiting factor.
  5. I think reading the thread so far would be pretty useful to you as far as what point is being made regarding differentiation between brands. It wouldn't do for this forum to be responsible for some poor guy buying an "AR10" gas system for his DPMS SASS barrel, and then finding out that in fact it does matter. Not to mention the 100% valid points that have already been made about manufacturer reputation.
  6. Huh, and I thought AR owners would be the worst to complain about gas in their face....
  7. Glad to hear that, I'm going to be getting into the reloading game real soon and it'll be nice to have a reliable source of once-fired brass.
  8. Glen Seekins himself joined the forums here a while back, I'm suprised he hasn't weighed in on this thread yet.... <dontknow>
  9. Congratulations Roger! Best wishes to you and your wife to be. <thumbsup>
  10. Fixed.
  11. 1st of all, that's a very nice rifle! That said, I'm beginning to get the impression that WWI and WWII rifles are to Tom what animal shelter puppies are to girlfriends. <laughs>
  12. He will undoubtedly have a little help with installation and break-in! ;D :auto: :sniper:
  13. Welcome from Maiden, NC. What part of our awesome state are you in?
  14. Done. Wish your buddy luck on our behalf! <thumbsup>
  15. If you get the barrel nut tightened to spec and one of the little nubs blocks the gas tube, you can dremel the offending nub off, or remove the nub as you see fit. Removing one nub won't hinder your ability to remove the barrel nut in the future.
  16. I'm going to be following this thread closely, because I'm new to it too. Can't wait to get my dies and get started!
  17. What Jgun said, shim kits or peel washers. Crush washers are a nightmare.
  18. Good deal, I'll close this and mark it sold.

Wow Jgun, that is a beautiful piece! Be sure to post target pics!
  21. That's the first time I've ever seen the words "cheap" and "Larue Tactical" on the same page.. <laughs> I do like their stuff though, I'd buy from them again in a heartbeat.
  22. I'm still having trouble with Tom not being in the #1 position, he must be having an off month or something... In any case, that's some sweet gear there brother, I'm starting to lose sight of the Jones' and it's killing me. :rant2:
  23. Is enabler #2 still in contention? Sheesh, I'm gonna have to step up my game... :o
  24. That is one beautiful piece of work right there.... I can't stop drooling over it!
  25. The Governator, he liked making babies with the help... ;D
