    Yeah, I stood still for long enough that he relaxed his posture, but when I advanced on him he went to DEFCON 5 in a heartbeat... He warmed up to me pretty quickly though.

    I haven't the faintest idea to be honest, but it seems to be a well documented quirk of the platform. My large ARs have always performed well with 165gr and upwards, anything below that tended towards 1.5 MOA accuracy at best.

    What's your barrel twist rate? This platform doesn't play very well with lighter projectiles in a 1:10 twist barrel.

    I think you misunderstood the question. If I'm reading correctly, he wants to use a spacer inside the full-length buffer tube and use his carbine buffer and spring.

    It won't need dead-perfect alignment if he isn't using a gas block that integrates a sight or sighting device. As long as it's fairly close, he'll be OK. Most gas tubes will allow for a bit of side to side wiggle to accommodate gas hole (hahhaha) alignment.
