  1. Correct... unless he has the skill/ability to remove the barrel extension, and replace it with a DPMS style.
  2. PM me your address. I have a spare. I'll send it to you.
  3. Who makes the lower that uses G17 mags? Glock mags are always plentiful. I heard rumor of a 5.7x28 lower that used FN Five-Seven mags... And a blow back upper that negated the need for a buffer... just a rumor though. IF you really wanted a cheap plinker, contact Ron Williams (rmwxtreme.com) about a 7.62x25 upper .
  4. Or be a firefighter. . Have bbqs everyday, workout everyday, play Xbox all day, get paid "hazard pay", take all the credit... retire out on injury young and milk the system while you pull a second check from your side business. Don't get me started on the chemical dependencies and domestic violence that follow closely as well. Or you could be one of the "good ones" and likely get some nasty form of cancer.
  5. The brotherhood of LEO is not for everyone. We don't sign up to get rich. There's no giant house with a garage full of fancy cars. There's no weekends in exotic lands... There is comfort. There is never having to worry where your next meal will come from, how healthy you're loved ones will be or how you will take care of yourself after you finish your career. For 99.9% of the population, a bad day at work consists of bad paper work maybe a shitty customer. For us, someone dies... and god forbid it's one of us. We absolutely do take care of eeachother. The blue line is there for a reason. There is a definite separation between us and them. State and federal laws aside, we have our own unspoken laws that we abide by and live by. Your word, your honesty, is the one thing you can never regain. Like your virginity, fucked once... fucked forever. I dropped out of college at 23 and decided to travel around the world. I needed that "life experience". Maybe not the best choice, but it fit me at the time. SWAT, K9, Motors, EOD, Helo, S&R, none of those will ever happen if you can't push a car. Unless you're coming out of a successful career as a SF soldier, you shouldn't expect to join an elite special group within your first 5 years, maybe 10. Our job sucks the majority of the time. We see the absolute lowest parts of life and society. Shiit that other people refuse to admit exists, drips from our boots. Yet for some reason we get a morbid sense of satisfaction in what we do. If you choose this career, you will have to fight for your life. You will get hurt. You will hurt someone else, maybe a lot of people. You will see death and experience a side of life not normally discussed. You will have to do alol of it and not let it affect you. You have to deal with all of that and still maintain a healthy home life to raise a family and build your future. If you cant, there was no point in going through all the shiiit
  6. FWIW... The TacOps-1 was actually designed to tighter tolerances specifically to reduce the amount of gas/hot-oil back into the shooters face. This was an intended feature quoted to me from their owner.
  7. The biggest chunk of obsidian I have ever seen is about the size of a bowling ball.... THAT ONE is as long as my leg (literally, I wear 32 inseam pants)
  8. Does that Lancer lower hold the bolt from the right side too (like the AXTS)... or just release the bolt? (Like the Mega and Seekins)
  9. I think I got a spare one... $20? We can meet here in town. You're not that far from me.
  10. Actually, the gay population has a GROWING number of gun enthusiasts... Thank you Matt for spreading the word at the annual "meatings"... Keeping SF might be a benefit
  11. My buddy it doing 55-61 mpg in his VW Golf turbo diesel.
  12. I have a spare bolt latch. There are none like it. It is a very rare SI-DEFENSE, made from billet stainless steel. It's oversized at the catch point, as they designed it specifically for their .308 rifles. Bigger, more rugged and built from stronger material. I only replaced it with a Phase5 because I wanted the right side control features. I'll put it back if I find a lever that'll attach to it. It cost me $78 when they actually made them. I don't think they make them anymore, so your best shot at getting one is to convince an original owner to sell. It's not the most affordable option... but you asked for the best, and that always costs more.
  13. I eat my words... nice find!
  14. I really should take a better picture
  15. You make it so easy to hate you
  16. Welcome aboard. I hope poverty suits you as well as the rest of us.
  17. My 14.5" 300Blk is a lot of fun. <thumbsup>
  18. That SoCal Senators needs to stop worrying about firearms, and start thinking about where they are going to get their drinking water this summer. NorCal isn't sharing shiit this year.
  19. :laughing4: This thread is almost 2 years old.... And the OP hasn't logged in in nearly as long.
  20. http://www.examiner.com/article/maryland-mall-shooting-further-erode-gun-control-myths January 26, 2014 Three myths of gun control were further eroded with yesterday’s Mall of Columbia shooting in Maryland, covered here in the Seattle Times, and the incident also challenges the rationale behind a Washington State gun control measure scheduled for legislative hearings on Tuesday and Wednesday in Olympia. Howard County Police Chief William McMahon identified the alleged mall gunman as Darion Marcus Aguilar, 19, of College Park, according to Yahoo News. He was armed with a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun that he reportedly purchased last month in neighboring Montgomery County, according to the New York Times. If that is the case, Aguilar should have had to pass a background check. Latest reports say police are “still reviewing the details of the purchase.” The Mall of Columbia, according to National Gun Rights Examiner David Codrea, is a so-called “gun-free zone” where the Code of Conduct specifically says "No firearms or illegal weapons.” That did not help Brianna Benlolo, 21, of College Park, or 25-year-old Tyler Johnson of Ellicott City. Both worked at the Zumiez skateboard shop. There is no clear motive for the attack, covered here by the Seattle P-I.com. Recall that the December shooting at Arapahoe High School happened in a “gun free school zone” where the assailant, Karl Pierson, was armed with a shotgun that he had legally purchased, passing a background check. He fatally shot student Claire Davis for no apparent reason before taking his own life as an armed officer closed in. Recall that the Washington, D.C. Navy Yard shooting occurred in a “gun free zone” yet Aaron Alexis walked right up to a security guard, shot him dead with a Remington 12-gauge pump shotgun he legally purchased days before — passing a background check in the process — and then took his gun and went on a rampage. In none of these three high-profile incidents was there a so-called “assault weapon,” unless and until some gun prohibitionist decides to demonize one of the most common firearms in the country as an “assault weapon.” Anti-gun Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley signed legislation last year to ban “assault weapons.” Tally up the score. Gun-free zones? Fail. Background checks? Fail. “Assault weapons” ban? Fail. This week in Olympia, House and Senate committees will hear testimony on two initiatives to the legislature, I-594, the 18-page gun control measure that was certified last week, and I-591, the simple one-page proposal mandating that background checks in Washington comply with a uniform national standard, as they do now. In its first public foray into the dueling initiatives effort, the National Rifle Association called I-594 a “universal handgun registration scheme.” In an e-mail yesterday, the Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility encouraged gun control advocates to attend the hearings this week. They will have lots of company from rights activists who will oppose their measure primarily on the grounds that — as yesterday’s incident has once again demonstrated — it will not prevent violent crime but only add more burdens to law-abiding citizens. The hearing schedule: Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
, House Hearing Room A
, John L. O'Brien Building Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
, Senate Hearing Room 1,
J.A. Cherberg Building
