That was a great article! <thumbsup> I shoot about 70/30 Brass vs steel. I'm not opposed to shooting steel, but I tend to buy brass and only shoot steel when I come across it. I have not had any issues with steel ammo in my AR15. I have a few hundred 7.62x51 with steel cases that I save for "just in case" ammo. Clean your guns and stay conscious of the ammo condition you are shooting. Replacing parts between 3k to 5k rounds is appropriate for any weapon you depend your life on.

@Tucson308, I have an extra bolt (stripped). We should talk. I was just about to install the springs/extractor, but it'd be a lot easier to reverse engineer while it was stripped. The bolt is LR308 patterned with a NiB coating. It is shot peened stainless steel. Made by SI Defense, out of northern MT.

I'm not kidding when I say I have maybe 2k rounds of this stuff from when I carried a Sig P226. I don't even own a .40cal anymore. I'm trying to buy the wife a 4th gen G23, so she can shoot the good stuff. I also have some heavy subsonic 9mm from when we used to play with MP5's. When the wife gets the .40 I'll sell her g19 and finally be rid of 9mm for good.
