  1. Pics of my spray Booth from my phone. I just hung parts from a beam in the basement, used some 6# test trilene, and an old box as a backdrop, nothing fancy.
  2. nothing before you purchase the kit. It comes with a degreaser and a 3m sctochbrite pad, all you need to do is spray and scuff/clean areas, mix the color and hardener together, attach sprayer top to mixture and go. It really is very simple, and their #79 magpul fde is a perfect match! http://www.lauerweaponry.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=929
  3. Duracoat shake and spray….. used it today to do two uppers and a lower plus some other parts. One kit did it all, worked very well, and the color was perfect (I ordered magpul fde, hoping it would match my magpul parts in fde…. yes it did, but you never no sometimes <thumbsup>) I can recommend it to anyone, it goes on easy, the key is to go light and repeat, they recommend three times, i had just enough. Pics to come of the builds later after cure time. Rob, I'll send you your part Friday. ;D
  4. welcome back. i'll be near ft huachucha in october visiting my father in law and 98z5v, and hopefully some other guys here. i'm getting ready to duracoat today, if i figure any tricks out i'll relay them

yeah , the silence is starting to worry us!
  6. Thanks guys, I don't think we'll be doing any modification, its too nice a rifle, pre ban, ect. Good looking out, it functions fine, ill let him know outs typical, and blast away! <thumbsup>
  7. My friend has a galil in .223 and has a question I can't answer. He says its rough on brass, that the neck of the case is pinched when they are ejected, and is wondering if its normal. The rifle is a beautiful survivor, wood furniture, bought earlier this year with a low round count, under 300. It cycles, fires, and functions well in every way, except that the brass are essentially destroyed at the neck. I thought that it was maybe a tight chamber more than an extraction issue, but I am not familiar with these at all. Ideas?
  8. Welcome, to be specific, to my knowledge the only other compatible receiver is noveske <thumbsup>
  9. that's funny, only cause it ended ok, but funny i tell ya! <lmao>
  10. wish i could open carry, I carry concealed as often as possible. at home their are two safes, and we keep pistols in the small one in the bedroom, and have practiced on how to get to the bigger one in the office to get to the shotgun. for us at home, the spx is the best option, but the rifles are in the same safe, so it's a easy choice once you're there!
  11. Your best bet may be auction sites, like gunbroker or guns of america, I haven't seen any for sale in a while.
  12. Welcome to the forum, and thanks for serving, tell the boys they are doing great! As for Kaiser, you are pretty much out of luck. I you were looking at them for the reason of a side charger, your current choices are JP, LWRC, and ASA arms. Let us know if their is something we can help you with!
  13. I recommend one our sponsors, Heavy Buffers, for the buffer. Check out the review of the buffers he sent me compared to the originals. http://308ar.com/forum/index.php?topic=4114.0 As for brakes, I like the Pws fsc30.
  14. that's one big bolt release! Their bolt guns are well known for their accuracy, but the price on that is very steep.
  15. don't forget Troy industries has several to choose from. http://troyind.com/%20/rail-systemsaccessories/rails/ar15m16-rails/free-float-rails/troy-battlerail-mrf-308-13-8
  16. i would guess the same but you may need to put your upper in a vise block so no damage occurs
  17. <thumbsup> agreed, parts for my build arrive Thursday, it'll be like playing in Hugh Hefner's house.
  18. I have no idea about Rainier's lower, whether it's a rebrand or not
  19. Rainier and Larue also make billet receivers.
