  1. "Barrel length" begins at the face of the chamber, and ends at the very end of the threads on the barrel. Rails don't measure that way - and all rails from all manufacturers - they all measure differently. My $0.02 on it. I can put up pics of the differences, if necessary. Here's a Ballistic Advantage 8.3" 9mm barrel, with a GunTec USA 6.75" rail. Can you imagine if that rail was another 1.5"-ish longer?...
  2. I was bummed that they didn't state that the Prusik Climb was in there - that's always been a staple of Best Ranger. The Prusik Climb is a motherFUCKER... Here's Marty Skovland's coverage of the 2019:
  3. That's hilarious that Al popped into your mind on that - he's got some fuckin' BEAR PAWS!...
  4. Like Roman. That fucker @sketch put a Shockwave Blade on his .458 SOCOM - just to be a dick... I saw that MagPul the other day, and I'll pick one up. Just to have it. I only saw it in black on their website, but as soon as they drop the FDE, I'll grab one. One more push against SlowBama... I love that they announced it, and dropped it - AFTER SlowBama made his statements about pistol braces...
  5. GO beat up the Intro Section and tell us about yourself, instead of coming in on your first post, and asking for parts from people. Asking for parts from people is what the "Want to Buy" Section is for - it's not for General Discussion. Here's the WTB Section: https://forum.308ar.com/forum/38-wanted-to-buy/ Next, and more importantly for new people, here's the Intro Section - post away. https://forum.308ar.com/forum/22-introductions/ Go knock it out - once we learn who you are and what you need, and more about you - someone might be willing to give you a deal. As a stranger, first post, looking for parts?! Nope. We're ALL looking for parts. Tell us why you're worth what we've scavenged and stock-piled away... Seems like a fair trade.
  6. One day, they'll wise up a little, and either figure it out and start listening. Or not.
  7. You will not be disappointed, brother - not in the least. I can directly thank Greg @edgecrusher for making me meet him in the first place. I think that was 2012, might have been 2011. Walked into that tent of his at the Tombstone Cowboy Action Shoot, and Greg says - "THAT! THAT BLOCK OF WOOD! That would make some BADASS grips for your Desert Warrior..." Thanks, fucker... I felt so flattered when he put my gun on his webpage, for the example of the "Amboyna Burl" wood. It's #169 on this page: https://classicsingleaction.com/gallery ^^^ Yes, that gun was daily-carried for several years. Yes, it has carry-wear, and yes, it's had the absolute SHIIT shot out of it. That was my retirement present to ME, when I got out in 2007. And I don't believe in Safe Queens.
  8. Damn, I'll have to check mine out here. Good heads up!
  9. I'v done the same thing a couple times, 2 or 3 are all that comes to mind, over all the reloading time. One was not enough lube (my fault), and 1 or 2 more were on converted 300BLK brass from PPU 5.56 cases, with bulged bases. I think it was 2 of them, over time, and I quit using that brass to convert. I used 6mm x 1.0 pitch for drilling and tapping, because I have a fuk-tonne of metric tools, bolts, nuts, etc. - and it worked like a champ. I think I posted about that, when it happened the first time.
  10. Great mil-spec type triggers, man - you can't go wrong with them. The QMS is a smoothed-out higher-pull weight mil-spec design, and the ACT is the same thing, lower pull weight. Both are great. For a first one, I'd suggest just getting the ACT, right from the start.

People in today's age forget that you can dial a phone number, and talk to a human on the other side of the phone... and that's still the best way to solve issues - even if you have to wait on hold, before your call is answered. Instead, we email (mainly), or post on theit FB or Twitter feed - and just hope for a response. I prefer talking to real humans, about issues or questions, and gladly wait on hold when I have to. Put a name to a voice, and shiit gets solved faster than other ways...
  12. This will let you down, in a .308, especially that LMT. What Rex stated, in the post directly above mine, is the way that you need to start, with this build and function-test of this gun. Buy a Ballistic Advantage barrel, a Criterion barrel, or a barrel from Fulton Armory - and send it to D.Wilson to have it converted to MWS barrel specs..
  13. Like others have stated - you couldn't have picked a worse time to decide to build one of these. Go rip up the Intro Section and tell us all about yourself. It's right here: https://forum.308ar.com/forum/22-introductions/
  14. DPMS, on the LR-308 pattern, followed the AR15 pattern for all their stuff, minus the dimensional changes needed for the larger magazine, obviously. . The only reason the Armalite AR-10B pattern was 3* is because of the magazines that they had to use to make that gun.
  15. Same here, I picked up 3 of each kit he was offering - just because he stepped up and said he'd offer it. He did, so I grabbed them. I think it was the difference between a "field" kit and a "full" repair kit. Either way, I grabbed those up as soon as he posted them on his website, just to support him - for supporting us, when asked to. There's another guy here ( @Zombie Tested ) that I used to test parts for, when he'd build them. He'd send me some, I'd install them in the guns, run 'em, and report back. After that, they'd get produced. Cam pins for AR15 and .308AR, firing pins for both, some specific build-tools, etc. Hard parts, not like springs and smaller things. He's got another screen name now, after the business took off. I've seen his stuff around. Contacting him through here wouldn't hurt. Great, great guy.
  16. That's hilarious, right there!!!
  17. Only the Armalite AR-10B pattern has the 3* magwell. The AR-10A pattern is setup for the 0* and the DPMS LR-308 pattern, for the magwell. Here's some reference information: https://www.cncguns.com/projects/ar10lower.html
  18. Read up on that - and past competitions have videos out there. That's a badass competition, with the baddest motherfuckers on the planet, right there.
  19. There's a reason for that... Those that get it, shoot it, and either turn it back in (police up the brass) because they have to, or they keep it for themselves and reload it - if they don't have to turn it in. That's not even "Sniper Course" ammo - that came from service competition ammo, and the designers of the load all lived at Fort Benning, and were AMU members.
  20. Post a pic of your DPMS lower, and I'll tell you which one it is. There was never "Gen 1" or "Gen 2" for DPMS, either. There was the LR-308 platform, and the G II platform.

  22. Oh poop!!! On BOTH!!! Reap what you sow...
  23. I had an upper one time that had the cam pin cutout machined too far rearward - that stopped the BCG from even fully closing in the upper receiver. No way was it gonna fire. I cut the cam pin journal further forward, on the forward side of it, and it fixed the problem. Mine was severe, off by alot. This might be the issue you're seeing, but it's only off by a few thou. Look into the designs and prints out there, on the positioning of the cam pin cutout. Shouldn't matter is it's an Armalite print or a DPMS LR-308 print - those two should be in the same place, or we wouldn't be able to cross over some of those parts and make them work.
  24. Make sure he doesn't lick it - if he licks it, it's his...

    98's 6mm ARC

That's my Custom Cerakote mix for "Sexual Chocolate" as the entire basecoat. Then, tape everything back up again, put on the stencils, hang it, and selectively zap it with Krylon Camo paints, the Khaki and Olive Drab. For real. If the Krylon ever wears through, it'll still be Cerakote Sexual Chocolate underneath... I almost left it like this - but I'm glad I just said "FUK IT!!! STRIPE IT!!!" I think the 12.5" 6 ARC will get the Sexual Chocolate treatment, and I'll leave it like that.
