Now you went and did it. And, I can't help myself...

I don't think I'll be able to run them out of my new-ish .243 Win Rem 783 bolt gun - but I'm gonna try. I think I'll end up with two separate loads here, one for each gun. I'll keep it updated in this thread, though. I think that 90 GMX is gonna work out pretty well in the bolt gun.

Well... THAT escalated quickly!...

Great Sweet Baby Jesus - been here since 2014?! I'll dig into it, brother. As far as barrels fitting into receivers, that's standardized across the industry, and barrel extensions (on barrels) all have the same O.D. Or very, very damn close, and we're talking "needing a micrometer" to tell any difference. Any barrel is gonna work in any upper (Not DPMS G II or any of that PSA "small frame LARGE AR stuff). For the standard .308AR, pick a barrel, pick your receivers - it's gonna work. Matrix Aerospace is solid. The receivers are great, there are no flaws, and they work. BA, Faxon, and Criterion are all great barrel manufacturers, so that will come down to the features that you want in that particular IDEA of what you want/need in a barrel. Flutes? Certain profile? Certain material? That kind of stuff. You toss an idea out here @bmoney9, on what you're looking for on that particular barrel profile, and we can narrow that all down. I've been on one hell of a BA kick lately - because they have the specific profile that I needed/wanted - and the material, and twist rate - and those damn things are accurate. As Fuk. To this day, though, my Kreiger-Criterion 10-year-old .308 Win barrel is the best barrel I've ever had. And, I love the Faxon barrels that I have. You just can't lose, with any of those three companies. You wanna go distance with a 16" .308 Win barrel? It's easy. Just need to know what you're looking for in that specific barrel.

Still working on it. November for sure. I'll get details up here soon. Not taking the chance on October anymore, and another 4 1/2 foot rattlesnake wandering into camp at 9pm. No more of that shiit. Needs to be November, so the nights are cooler, and those slithering fuckers aren't out, strolling through camp.

That will be stellar!

If you go after one of her "pets" - there's gonna be hell to pay...

Did you look at the block alignment before?

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

She coulda kept it - after we hosed it off at the house... -
That's badass - completely. 5.7 mils at 800 yards is fucking amazing. I'm really looking forward to this one, and coming up with my own handloads. There's a pretty big jump in the BCs on the Hornady projectiles, looking at the 103 ELD-X, 105 BTHP and the 108 ELD-M. Click it to make it bigger.

I don't think there's anybody just selling the followers. For the mags, I look at what I need - always need that 30-rd body, and prone the 20-rd bodies are great. For that, because that cartridge case is fatter, round count is lower. I've only used what I know works, and the Alexander Arms or E-Lander 17-rd mags are flawless, and the C-Products 25-rd mags are flawless (the ones with the blue followers).

Doesn't work, at least not the one I tried. I tried it backwards from what you're doing. Was working on a guy's PSA complete upper, test-fire time on my Aero M5 lower. And it wouldn't fully close to engage the takedown pin. I don't suggest that combo, at all.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

Lesson 65b is a motherfucker, for sure. When you see something you want/need/lust after, and its in stock, you better buy it right then. Because, mere seconds later - it won't be in stock, and you're out of luck. I must have made that order by the skin of my teeth - because I said "Fuk it, I'll take more of those." I checked out seconds before some other person did, and I'm getting them, and his order isn't processing right now, and he's trying to figure it all out. Cussing at his computer right now. JUST like I would if I put them in the cart, they said "in stock" - and MY order won't go through right now. It's ALL about the timing, men. Nothing more than that. If you want it, you better get it, while it's there. If you hesitate, you're dead. -

OOOOPS!!! Looks like I got that last 10-pack of mags. They're showing Out Of Stock now when you click that link I provided. THAT, men, is the TRUE DEFINITION of the very truth in... Lesson 65b. Lesson 65b. You Snooze, You Lose. -

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

My local guy is good. An when you're here for a shoot, and need something - we just text him, and tell him to bring out xxx rounds of whatever - he'll bring it. Unless he's asleep in the chair at the campfire beside us... You really will get discounts, if you're here for the shoot. He's made SO MUCH this year, that he doesn't even care anymore, about local, regular-customer pricing. This year has been NUTS, in the gun industry. He beat last June, on June 4th this year. He beat LAST YEAR on June 9th... It's fucking crazy out there... Panic-ers are driving the market. -

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

Not my local guy. He was discounted from retail before all this madness, regularly, but with his increased hours, increased workload, and increased daily NICS checks that he has to do every day, from panic-buying - he increased his ammo prices to MSRP. He saves personal-protection ammo for gun-buyers - only - and only sells ammo to walk-ins with a ration - one or two boxes only, for range ammo, if you're not buying a gun. That means that nobody can come in and hoard his ammo, and he has ammo for all his customers. There's nothing worse than buying a new gun (when you're a panic-buyer), and you can't get any ammo for your new gun that's going to save your life in the next 5 minutes... So they think... There were several of us that talked him into this policy, and pushed him to do it, and it's working out. The price-gougers will be remembered, and that practice will limit their future earnings. Let them do it, just don't support them. Let the "Panic'ers" support them right now - but never give them another penny. Drive further to someone honest, and give THAT person your business, and let them know that you're there for their business, BECAUSE of their business practices... -
This is exactly why I'm never gonna get any Grendel brass from him...
-
That's what sealed it for me, and just "make this one very nice from the get-go." There's only three possible DOD entities that this can possibly be, because those are the only three with that kind of pull. This round happened fast, and there are very few places with that kind of "rapid-acquisition" horsepower.
-
I'm way more hopeful on this 6 ARC - it's just a necked down Grendel, and Grendel is fuckin' KICKASS... I think this 6 ARC is gonna be good, and that's why I'm taking the plunge on the LaRue hardware all the way. If you're gonna have a LaRue rifle, it BETTER be a badass... I think this is gonna play out very, very well, in distance, accuracy, all that. I think this cartridge really has it. And... you succeeded. I'm the fucking guinea pig here...
-
@DayWalker, not to add any pressure to you, on that future Mk12 Mod 0 build, and I'm not sure if you noticed it or not... but my Mod 0 was built on Noveske receivers. I'm just sayin'... If you're gonna build a Mod 0, don't hold anything back...

Alright, LaRue 5.56 lower is ordered. Progression.
