  1. Savage makes great bolt guns, brother - you did well with that one. That should have the Savage Accu-Trigger in it, which is a trigger "that doesn't need to be replaced."
  2. Rene - if that guy lives in Cali, and is trying to stop people from cutting wood on his property - he's probably not in any city limits... If he somehow is, it's a pretty rural "city," and those LEOs would understand that. Big trees aint's cheap, and neither are smaller ones. That kinda shiit should be straight up Grand Theft, right there.
  3. Gas tube length is good. Ejector is a little square, but not what I've seen that causes problems feeding from the right side of the mag - but it might be. If this was my own gun, and I was having your problems, the first thing I'd do is round off that ejector - not take any length - but I'd blow that thing down until it's round, and a good, smooth radius from the top down. If it was my gun. I'd do that, then shoot it again. The marks in your upper are telling you that you have an issue feeding from the right side of the mag. Do a test for me. Live fire. Load up the mag so the top round is on the left. Chamber it and Shoot it. tell me what happens. Then shoot it again (top round will be from the right, next one up) - tell me about that one, too.
  4. Very valid points - and you have to look at this - HERE - from outside your perspective. Sure, people in Cali own ARs. Sure, they do all kinds of things to them that aren't in compliance with Cali Laws - I get it. Sure, you might be shooting next to a Cali LEO - and HIS SHIIT looks illegal, too... - but it's not. He is LEO, and has an exemption. No joke. You, as a private citizen, non-LEO, and that active LEO - two different worlds, right there. Blame your legislators on that law, or set of laws. Now, you can ask whatever you want here - telling us where you're from greatly alleviates headaches like this thread. Right from the beginning. Don't think that most people here can give you accurate information on Cali Gun Laws, though. Not even close. If you really, seriously want information on Cali Gun Laws, on the world wide web, then you need to be asking those questions on CalGuns.net. No joke, there are gun lawyers there, as members of that board. If you need help getting your AR15 or .308AR running - no matter what caliber it is - we can fix it. If you need legal advice on building your gun, and you live in Cali - you need to be asking those specific questions on CalGuns, and not here. THEY rule, on that, and THEY are the subject matter experts on making legal guns in California. We make guns run. We don't make legal guns in states that hate 2A. That's not our specialty, here.
  5. Love it, Albro - that is excellent info. I'll be linking this post whenever appropriate - which is often.
  6. Not really intentionally, no, you didn't. Unintentionally, I get it - you want to keep your information to yourself. However, in order to get decent information TO you, we need information from you... In this day and age, in this country - we need to know where you live, in order to get decent information to you. It's not because we want to raid your house and steal al your hardware, either. There are WAY TOO MANY restrictive states in this nation, as fas as 2A goes. Off the top of my head, CA used to be the king of it. I now think that NY is the worst for 2A supporters, and that flipped in the last year. MA, NJ, CO, IL, CT - they're all bad now, for 2A. WA is betting better, but absolutely sucked for a bunch of years, for certain things. So, having stated that - with you asking for specific 80% info, and you live in Cali... That excludes a very large portion of this board, regular members, that can help you out. My question is - had I not directly asked you where you live - when were you gonna provide that info? It should have been in your Intro Thread that tells us all about yourself, so we know what we're accurately working with here. Does that make sense? You should see what we deal with on this side of the fence, here. Different perspective, from you seeking information. I just want you to have the best info that you can, to get you running. I can't offer legal advice for your state, though, and that limits what help you'll get. There's a hellish-detailed thread here, in the 80% section, on making an 80% .308AR lower. User Lane knocked his project out of the park, and he's in NY State. Find his thread, it's packed with info.
  7. You're jamming rounds into the upper body, below the barrel extension, and it's on the rounds that feed from the right side of the magazine... Can you post up a picture of what your ejector looks like? Angled shot of the bolt face, and the ejector. Ejectors with squared off faces have trouble feeding the rounds that come from the right side of the magazine. I can see on your upper where the bullet noses are being jammed into the upper, and it's on the right side. You've had a couple on the left side, but that right side looks like it's eating the ammo. Good pics, by the way. Get that requested pic in here of the end of the gas tube. Need to see where it ends, in the upper receiver. Straight down pic into the upper receiver, with the BCG removed.
  8. You have to register that one, right? Just like a normal lower receiver? Or, am I wrong on that... I'm not up on Cali Gun Laws these days, because they literally change every day...
  9. He's a jackass, but maybe a slightly smaller jackass than I am. Well, no. He's a bigger jackass. But, he's loved.
  10. And you certainly didn't state it, either - and it IS pertinent information, when you're looking for gun advice. Just like the Canadian guy that just came here - looking for gun advice. When asked where he was from, he stated Canada. How the hell are we supposed to advise a Canadian on gun shiit in Canada? Maybe YOU will go answer his questions, and take responsibility?... Are you seeing the pattern, or are you blind to it?...
  11. Then buy Aero Precision M5 upper and lower, and be done with it. They'll work. They go through your FFL (the lower does). Do you want a gun that runs - or are you trying to get around Cali law, and do an 80% so you can avoid something in Cali law?...
  12. Tired of this here... This is how we get info from people-looking-for-info...
  13. Yeah - go hit your intro again, for a new response.
  14. Where, in this intro, did you state that you were from California? Where? If you want honest input on gun-advice, it has to be just that - honest. Nobody here, minus a few select individuals, can properly advise anyone on anything California. I might tell you something, and you follow it - fuk, I'm in Arizona, where I can almost do what I want. Not you - you're Californian. You do what I say, you end up in JAIL because what you did it NOT LEGAL IN CALI... and you blame this place. You blame this board. You blame ME. Yeah, fuk that. Be honest, in your intro. Tell everyone where you are, what you're trying to do, etc. Where in this thread did you ever say that you're in California?... Short answer - never.
  15. Seems to me that your primary concern is on the 80%, and you're a Californian. What are your questions on the .358 Win? I gave you my input on that, and i thought it was clear. Again, that's just my opinion, so let me know what was confusing about what part I stated on the .358 Win. Otherwise - what are you looking for? Legal advice on an 80% lower, and you're a Californian? Is that what you're after? Be clear, man, and state what it is that you're after - after all this 2-page stuff.
  16. Show me your intro thread here, where you described all the stuff that you have going on... Just link it. I'm cool with hitting a link and looking at it.
  17. People wonder why we harp on the "Intro Thread" so much here. THIS is why. Go to the Intro Section: https://forum.308ar.com/forum/22-introductions/ Tell us about yourself. I don't care about your long walks on the beach, and all that - but where ARE YOU FROM?! What gun experience do you already have? You, @BeeKay?... Could have saved alot of time, right up front, specifically telling us about yourself in the intro section/post about yourself, and directly stating that you're from Cali, in the middle of a nationwide gun-and-ammo panic. Saved LOTS of time that way. Bottom line for most of us here - WE don't know WHAT you can do in your state right now. YOU need to keep up on that, and all that's a'changing' daily.
  18. That means a whole NEW thing here, with what we can recommend to you. "WE" are not Cali, nor do "we" here know the Cali laws in and out - and they're not uncomplicated. You need to hit this place for some serious - and timely - advice. So much has changed in the past Corona-Revolution, that I can't keep up on Cali Gun Laws. Hopefully, it's being kept up here: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/index.php
  19. Good luck. See you again when it doesn't function.
  20. Out of respect for Eric, I swear I'm not gonna go there. I love that brother too much.
  21. @Dabaer just so you know you listed a whole bunch of parts types - but you didn't list a SINGLE manufacturer. Not one. You need to list the people that made your parts, because we - US people - have alot of familiarity with different companies, that make parts. But... we can't guess what ones that those are, on your build. Make sense?
  22. For me, personally, I don't give a shiit what you call your AR rifle parts, from the wrong side of the border. What I care about is WHAT YOUR RIFLE IS DOING. I don't care what your specs are, because you'll give it some Canadian bullshiit name, and it won't have a single thing to do with anything here in 'Merica, and it won't have anything to do with 'Merican specs" - you'll name it something funny, or you'll just straight call it whatever it is Canadian - and that won't mean shiit to US gun-builders. HOW IS YOUR GUN FUCKING UP?... What is your Canadian Gun doing, that it's not supposed to? What is your Canadian Gun doing wrong, that it shouldn't? we either have a language barrier or a Canadian Barrier, and the only one that can help us here is @Cunuckgaucho
  23. Yep, hear ya. These days are chaos. Do what you can, when you can...
  24. @BeeKay - what state do you live in?... Has a direct impact on "gun-info" that you're recommended, here on this board.
  25. That is false. Very, very false. You don't just "retime" a barrel extension. That is complete bullshiit, by whoever it was that told you that. You need a set of .358 Win headspace gauges, that at least include the GO and NO-GO gauges. You check your headspace on your barrel and bolt, with those gauges, and you buy parts from reputable manufacturers, and you should be good. If it's off... there's no adjusting it.
