  1. 0.081" should run the gun on any decent ammo. I went 0.085" on one I was working on, just in case any ammo was needed, even inexpensive steel-cased foreign ammo. Now, the other side of that mentality - you can run 0.085" just fine on yours, based on the adjustable gas block you're gonna use. Go Big or Go Home!... Drill it to the 0.085" and if you want to tame it down, you have that capability through the adjustable gas block. Justmake sure you realize this right now - brand new build, brand new parts need to carbon-seal, through carbon fouling. Run the AGB in the wide open setting while you're breaking in the gun, and letting the carbon fouling seal the gas block-to-barrel, and gas-tube-to-gas-block.
  2. XDS-9 is a good pistol, brother. Well done. What fucked up laws were just passed in WA?...
  3. This will be big, in the future - Leonardo DiCaprio eating a volleyball...
  4. Don't even sweat what PSA sent you for that recoil system then. Save that 7.000" internal extension for an AR-15 build in the future, and you can salvage four parts from the buffer that you were sent - you can save the buffer bumper and roll pin as a spare, and you can keep the two tungsten weights that are inside to convert a standard AR-15 buffer over to an H2 buffer later. The buffer body - smash it with a hammer and enjoy the satisfaction, and throw that spring away... JMHO...
  5. Same thing you'd use any short shotgun for: https://forum.308ar.com/uploads/monthly_2018_10/VID_20181018_162901631.mp4.96aaa9e99466aeddeb8b762a60c10456.mp4
  6. That bottom one is the original Scorpion. Somewhere in a box, I've got real printed pictures of one that Manuel Antonio Noreiga used to own - before we took it, along with everything else in his beach house. The maps were invaluable. Circa 1989.
  7. Okay, that CAN work. With the right buffer and buffer spring. That spring you listed... junk. The buffer you listed is too light (3.8oz and should hit on or right near 5.4oz). You stated you already have the Armalite AR-10 buffer tube assembly on order - is that the complete AR-10 Carbine Recoil System? Or just the receiver extension (buffer tube) ?. Is it this, here?: https://www.armalite.com/product/ar10rekit01-6-position-receiver-extension-kit/
  8. Pics or it didn't happen, my brother...
  9. You will be adjusting down that gas block, in that diameter gas port... What was it before you drilled it up? For 18" rifle-gas, that 0.875" gas block diameter has alot to do with it. If you're quoting the chart in the FAQ that I think you are, those numbers only cover 0.625" and 0.750" gas block diameters. You punched it to 0.125". Max gas port diameter is 0.125", because that's the max size hole you can drill in a gas tube. Nothing can ever go over 0.125", unless you're dealing with some serious custom-built-from-scratch stuff...
  10. You're on the right track with that first post, and thank you for the thank you. Means more than you know. Is that the internal depth of your receiver extension, that they sent you?!...
  11. Hard to say, but if you walked into Fall Shoot and dropped that kinda info and knowledge, we'd all be impressed enough to give you a Pants-Down Hug...
  12. That's a good update, of success - very well done.
  13. Here some Metallica, ONE, for you guys. This was June 8th, 2019 at Slane Castle in Ireland - right after the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.
  14. Don't push it - just recover at your own pace. There's always gonna be some doc somewhere (not EyeDoc here) that's gonna give you a "timeline." That's just a bunch of averages, and there's a high side and low side to every average, no other way it can be. Recover at the pace of you. Don't get in there and listen to one of them tell you that you need to be/should be here at here...
  15. Shinedown, Monster - badass song by a great band. That's in my new favorites list for a few weeks now.
  16. DON'T DO IT. Research the company first. There's plenty of info here on them, but there's a ton of it on the .www.
  17. Project Pinky is almost 7 years old now - I've done mine. It's a hell of a shooter, too.
  18. Nah, you already took that risk, and it didn't blow up on you. Would have been scary if it went the other way, though.
  19. Good, as they should be. He's Ukranian, and ICE has already put in a detainer on him. He JUST got his Green Card. 23, with a history of drugs and OUI...
  20. I'm contemplating a 9x39 in the future.
  21. You self-enabled it... Not as bad as what Doc did to himself, but still spectacular!...
  22. Up on that hill, you said that was a "warm load." I've also shot your "Warm 10mm loads" before, and those fuckers launch brass into the next county and break 2 out of 11 wrist bones on Mere Mortals, every shot... NEXT shot, a couple more, next shot... I can't drive home because my fucking hands don't work anymore... ...Now, you actually ADMIT that you've developed a HOT .357 SIG load... How the fuk you think we're gonna take that Mikey?...
  23. That's the way to go for a reliable recoil system. Looks like they only have 10 in stock, too. Lesson 65b - You snooze, you lose.
  24. I have a feeling that SHOT 2020 is gonna be pretty fucking stupid...
