For securing anything to the end of a barrel, the best there is, is Rock-Sett. Withstands 2k degrees, you can break it down with water. It started in the firearms industry, through AAC, for securing supressor-host muzzle devices. AAC would include a very small applicator tube of it with every muzzle device they sold. Once they started doing that, the rest of the firearms industry started paying attention. Kevin Brittingham is a genius. Still is, always will be.

The heavier buffer and stiffer spring WILL slow down your BCG speed - which is what you need. What happens to the brass will definitely be different - but there's no guarantees that the brass will come out spotless and perfect.

I'm signed up at many vendors for the .mil account, and this year, I received more emails than ever - that meant something. No worries, man, none at all. If you wait and wait for that DSG buffer to come in stock - it might be better to buy the KAK buffer I listed. It comes in at 5.3oz, 2.500" length - it's in stock at $55. Calling DSG and asking about an anticipated "in stock date" might not be a bad idea, just so you know. They don't get upset about calls like that. They're great with customer service. Here's something I went through over the summer - getting into the guts of these buffers:

Nope, you cannot use that buffer. That's an AR15 buffer that 3.250" long, and it will not work in a (EDIT: .308AR with a) receiver extension that's 7.000" internal depth. If you were running the Armalite AR-10 Carbine receiver extension (internal depth 7 5/8"), that that would be the buffer to get - that is what Armalite uses in the AR-10 Carbine RE, along with their spring. You need to keep to a buffer that's 2.500" long - the DSG buffer you're looking for is this one: https://dsgarms.com/dsg-4201-0021 Get on the email notification of when it's back in stock - and they will email you. You can also call them and ask about it, they are very helpful on the phone. There is a statement in their product description: " Can run this buffer on carbine stocks with the Armalite 308 buffer spring PN# ARMEA1095 with out purchasing a longer buffer tube. " That is incorrect - you cannot run the Armalite EA1095 spring in a 7.000" internal depth receiver extension; you will bring the spring to coil bind before the buffer bottoms out - the spring was designed for a 7 5/8" internal depth, minimum. Sprinco Orange spring...

Look into the history - you will find it...

If that current buffer weighs 3.8oz, then it's got two tungsten weights in it, right now. You'll need a heavier buffer, and a different spring. For the 2.500" buffers inside the 7.000" internal depth extensions, use the Sprinco Orange spring. Get the buffer weight up. Two easy ways, one is cheaper, IF your buffer is a 3.8oz right now. Buy the DSG Arms buffer - it's a stainless body, with steel weights in it, weighing 3.8 oz. You get it for $20, cross your tungsten weights into that stainless body, and you're at 5.15 oz. Your target weight that you want to hit is 5.4 oz. The combo buffer listed, at 5.15 oz, is close enough. Went out with Gun Pusher John (GP John) this morning. He took his Creedmoor and I took the .260 Rem and the 18" heavy Grendel. We went to the long side. We have a new lasered distance out there now. We set steel out at 200, 300, 500, 845 and 1,002 yards. Here was the view from the top of the shooting berm... The 500 and 1k are to the left of the pic. 200, 300 and 845 are to the right. Here's a closer pic of the 500 and 1k. Here' how we painted the 1k - DAMN, was this easy to see through the scopes! I made final load development on the .260, and took extra loads with me. I have a perfect load for that thing now, for certain. I didn't have a large amount of ammo for it, so I shot the 500 yard guy out there, and put the rest at the 1k. It was tough to call any kind of splash, due to the vegetation around,on the way out to it. Looking through a scope, itlooked like it was in a pile of bushes, even though it wasn't. Spotting was a biotch today. Winds were SUCKING BAD, we were 8-to-10 the whole time, directly from the south, so it was a tough left-to-right wind to deal with. I didn't even try the heavy Grendel at the 1k - no way to spot it, and I only brought out the dope sheet for the .260. One hit each on the 1k - One Creedmoor, one .260. I watched GP John cork that thing right in the middle, almost on that white square. There's a 3rd hit on that plate, top right side, right on the edge by the bolt. That belongs to GP John. I did put the heavy Grendel on everything else - first hits made on the 845, then I shot the chain. After that, it was a swinger, and you had to time it... The 500 got tore up pretty good... The heavy Grendel was eating the 300 alive... The 200 was a little guy - I think it was a 6" gong. It took some punishment, at that distance... Hell of a great way to start the day, right there, men.

FO... When you search, if you're hunting for something very specific, use the "quotation marks" around it. If you were to just search on 308 AR BCG for example, everything that includes "308" and "AR" and "BCG" will turn up. If you search on "308 AR BCG" - you'll get hits that include those three things together...

Some people swear by it - my mentality is simple, though, on recoil systems. Don't complicate shiit with complicated shiit. That part was borne of the "I can't stand that TWANG!" crowd. The lack of a "twang" tells you that your bolt just locked back on an empty magazine...

That's a hell of a small kit, right there, and great! Only thing I would add would be a small bag of QuickClot to it - that would kill the expense/cost, though. If it's bad enough, or a gaping wound, pour that QuickClot in there, them slap the Celox bandage over it. It'll stop everything except arterial - but that's exactly what the tourniquet is for. I'm a huge fan of the RATS tourniquet, these days. There were 3 of them out there at the Fall Shoot, in my gear. Biggest benefit of it is the worst case scenario - you can put it on yourself, one-handed, and it's fast as fuk. It's less than 20 bucks.

Once you get it assembled, get a picture of that gas tube protrusion into the upper receiver. The gas tube should stop at the very center of the cam pin cutout in the upper receiver. I've got two Wilson Combat barrels, and they don't use DPMS gas length, and they don't use Armalite gas lengths - it's in between. I had to use Armalite AR-10 gas tubes in them to get them "more" right, over "less" right with the shorter tubes.
