  1. Pfffft. Fuckin' Finger Pointers. You bastards KNOW you're guilty as hell. I'm the scapegoat.
  2. It's not about coffee - Mike is on a "Heather Lynn Boner Ride" here. THAT'S what his posts were about...
  3. From what I've been reading, this cartridge was never designed as a long(er) distance round - just a hunting round. Anything out there with a high BC is going to have a good taper to it. There aren't many .25-caliber heavy projos that don't have a higher BC, and the taper that goes with it. So, as a hunting round, with the lighter projos available, this still has some pretty impressive punch.
  4. Freedom Group, under Remington's name, bought out Marlin Firearms in 2007. In 2007... This is very old news. Soros didn't have shiit to do with it...
  5. I'm not sure about this specific caliber, but midlength gas on an 18" 5.56 barrel is pretty nice.
  6. I found 2 x 20" barrels in stock, 2 x 18" in stock, and 2 x 16" in stock. Thinking about 18" for this one.
  7. Matt, make sure you tell those as$holes at the inspection that you're attending "a firearms training event" in Arizona.
  8. Awesome... I'm going to build one of these things...
  9. Now you're getting me going!...
  10. Couple other things, that came way before adjustable gas block and adjustable gas systems (carrier keys) became mainstream, were modified gas tubes. PRI does the Fat Boy, and several manufacturers do a pigtail gas tube. Same principle for modifying gas that gets to the carrier key, just in a different way. More volume = more time before pressure peaks to the point of starting the carrier movement rearward and the bolt-unlocking process. PRI Fat Boy info and pic: http://www.precisionreflex.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=186699 Pigtail pics: Here was a "twin-tube" gas system - it's purpose was to create volume in the gas system, to delay unlocking.
  11. Been looking at this cartridge - and looking for barrels. With Lee already making a die set, this is something that's been on my mind since I did the .338 Fed.
  12. What color did you have them Cerakoted, Jim? If it's a standard color and not a custom-mixed color, I'm getting ready for a Cerakote Frenzy on some shiit, and I can paint up a few mags for you.
  13. That's a mis-packaged .936" gas block. Brownell's will take care of you.
  14. That's a wicked guitar case!!!
  15. Lancer 20s.
  16. Thank you for the update, RIck - Please give Van our words of encouragement. Rick, you DID tell Van that you started this thread, right?...
  17. TWO WEEKS FROM RIGHT NOW, MEN, WE'LL BE SETTING UP FOR THE CAMPFIRE AND COOKING RIGHT NOW, AFTER A SUCCESSFUL DAY'S SHOOT!!!
  18. I had lasers. On guns. Funny thing was, whatever they were pointed at got hit!
  19. Thank YOU, brother!
  20. Yep, even in the April shoots. We tried not to conduct an A/S Shoot in the summer, for that very reason - miserable, and you'll burn yourself when you pick up your black rifle, if you didn't cover your black rifle between shooting stages. I've laser-temped black rifles vs painted rifles, and there is a significant difference. It's not just an old wives tale...
  21. The recoil isn't bad - much better on the .308ARs than on a .308 Win bolt gun.
  22. Love mine - toughest thing in the toolbox!
  23. Definitely check out the info contained in this section: https://forum.308ar.com/forum/77-300-aac-blackout/ TONS of info, build threads, pic threads, etc.
  24. Was thinking about this earlier, specifically. I'll bet it plays hell with piston systems. Piston systems still being operated by gas, with a very short trip (the smallest, shortest gas system?). That gas goes up the gas port, directly into the "manifold" that houses the piston, and the operating rod is a direct link to the BCG. In a gas tube, at least the longer gas tubes have to "fill and pressurize" in order to move the BCG. Once that magic pressure is reached, the BCG begins its trip rearward. Not so on a piston system...
