lovetabike Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 Looks like a fun project to build a .308 AR and get a good education on how they work. When starting a build do people start with an upper or lower assemble and work from there? Thanks
edgecrusher Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 This isn't like building an ar15, not all parts fit together and play nice. I suggest you read around the site to gather some ideas and check back in. Welcome.
Robocop1051 Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 I always suggest buying the upper and lower receivers from the same company, and if possible, as a matching set. The lower, LPK and a stock assembly kit are the easiest way to get started. The upper requires more forethought, planning and $$$.
lovetabike Posted November 23, 2014 Author Report Posted November 23, 2014 Thanks for the info .. and I'm in CO, and its wanting to be a bit like CA ...
MONTANA308 Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 Welcome from MT. Read read read! I'm a believer in buying a matched set as well in the 308 platform.
washguy Posted November 25, 2014 Report Posted November 25, 2014 Hi loveit you would be best served by purchasing a Mega ma10 matched upper/lower set costs a lil more, but no headaches with this set :) Wash
