I thought the book was horribly written. had to force my way through it. had a friend just give it back to me half way through. the stories were cool, but he should have paid someone to write it.

I am excited to see the movie though. the Kyles and Lutrells out there deserve a hell of a lot more recognition than we shower on useless musicians and actors.

Maybe because I listened to it on audio book it was different? Not as good as Marcus's books but still great IMO

seemed like every other paragraph started with "there was this one time"

Now that you mention it, yes! I have a hard time sitting down and reading a book anymore, I just can't do it. Two thing I like about audio is I can listen in my work van ( better than sucky radio) and when your listening to a story like this it's almost like your hearing Kyle tell it to you, all three books I've listened to have been read by guys with a southern draw you could say they fit the part.

Not his fault for having "there was this one time" in there all the time the book people should have helped him edit it out, but YA figure if you were sitting there talking to him that probably how it woulda gone. But I know what you mean

exactly shep....was more like sitting at the bar listening to a bunch of semi related stories.

maybe ill get flack for this...but I also got annoyed with the unwavering support for the corporation. right off the .gov teleprompter. the whole "we're just here spreading freedom and sunshine, and anyone resisting us is the purest evil"

I know there's a few folks in here who would be pulling triggers if we were subject to the conditions the iraqis have endured. whether that condition was created by a foreign military or our own government. labeling every insurgent as evil is either Nieve or propaganda.

in his defense, it may have been a requirement for DOD to sign off on the book to add a little team America. there are some foil hatters who like to note Kyle was publicly critical of the administration shortly before his death.

Yes Marcus showed alil more fornicate the government in his books, idk I guess I didn't read into it that far. better than 90% of the other poop out there, pieces of history kids will never be taught about in scho

“…all snipers had a $20,000 bounty on their head.   And then it eventually went on up to about $80,000, and then I was worried about coming home, because I thought my wife would turn me in…”

His wallet really does say BAD MOTHERFUCKER on it...  :hail:

Okay Man Law, you can not  read a book about Special Forces regardless of branch unless you either smoke a cigar, pipe tobacco, or for the non smokers sip whiskey or bourbon whilst reading said book.  As respect to the warrior(s).

A golden rule in life is that; what goes around comes around. It's difficult to see unless you're really paying attention, and then you'll find it amazingly reliable if you do. All our actions, individually and as groups, good and bad create precedents that lead to similar or the same actions being taken against ourselves. I've found that; on an individual basis with every day behavior your actions get back to you within 2 weeks more then 90% of the time. The scale goes up from there. If you're willing to take your pride to your grave it will probably lead you there.

Bottom line, if we keep screwing around like this with other countries, it's eventually going to get back to us. It's one thing to hunt terrorists. It's quite another to take over a nation, seize it's industry and install puppet regimes.

Screw that karma BS.

Us killing the shiit outta them is the karma they've earned.

We're just the lucky ones with enough muscle to deliver their fate.

Killing mooselimbs should be considered a privilege to be celebrated.
