I was a FDC guy back in the 1960s we shot a lot of !55s 105s but my son retired from the US Army and he shot a bunch of these in Iraq, he says if you shoot some of these you won't want to go back to an AR.

MLRS - bad news if you're on the wrong end of it.

EDT - Just noticed that this was in the Industry section - we should probably move this thread to the General section ...

those things are so damn cool. parked next to a few of them, but never got to see one light off in person. nothing like vaporizing a grid square from a few miles away.

one of our training scenarios was defending the MLRS and M109 battery with our tank platoon. tons of fun racing back and forth chasing bad guys that the scouts would call in.

Yeah, you're right! Sorry about that brother! It's just that whenever someone posts military grade schit I guess 'Tom' pops into my head!

I got to drive a bunch of VIP's to demonstrations when the MLRS's first came on line. The launch was cool but the tour of the target zone was a real eye opener!

Fubar?

YES! I was amazed at how large an area the kill zone was. They had some junk 2 1/2 tons and jeeps scattered around that were peppered with holes. I don't recall what type of warhead they were using but it was some nasty shiiit.

One of those things can take out a whole grid square.  They're badass.

***Grid square = 1,000 meters by 1,000 meters.  An entire square kilometer...***
