EasyEJL
I'm thinking about building an AR pistol using one of the Charon 3d printer lowers. But I don't know anything about the bufferless AR uppers.... so help me out those of you that do
blue109
I hate to say it, but that PS90 looking lower is pretty cool looking. cav arms should make something like that!
EasyEJL
yeah, that one isn't bad either. Just any 3d printer i'm likely to get will be too small to print it in one piece, so i'd have to do it in 2 and epoxy together.
Robocop1051
Easy. Most of those are usually made into .22lr builds using the Ceiner (or dare I say, CMMG) conversion kit. I HIGHLY recommend the Taccom3G conversion. It's all NiB coated and has some modifications and upgrades built into it.
AdamO
What about using the Rock River LAR-PDS pistol upper? Availiable in 5.56 and .300BLK looks like http://www.rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=441 Edited March 11, 2015 by AdamO
Robocop1051
I just worry that those full size caliber uppers will wreck havoc on a printed lower. I know the poly lowers had a hard enough time as it was.
shepp
Aren't the Olympic arms pistol cal uppers buffer less or is that somthing different Edited March 11, 2015 by shepp
Robocop1051
Aren't the Olympic arms pistol cal uppers buffer less or is that somthing different They have buffers... but no gas tube system. They are a blow back instead of DI or piston
shepp
They have buffers... but no gas tube system. They are a blow back instead of DI or piston Ok that was my confusion, I was thinking blow back was like the 22 insert

I'd offer to mill one for him (to 80% of course) except I sold my CNC just 3 weeks ago. :( Edited March 11, 2015 by AdamO
Robocop1051
Warning point being issued... why would anyone sell a CNC nowdays?
EasyEJL
yeah it would be nicer as an 80% aluminum for sure :)

FaRKle!
There's the new Sig MCX upper... But you wouldn't be able to use the P90 style stock with it.You could use the ARAK-21.
98Z5V
Olympic Arms pistol cal ARs have full BCGs, and use buffers and buffer springs in the buttstock. They are blowback operated, and don't use gas systems. They do have a very unique ejection system. Ask me how I know. The Olympic Arms OA-93 is a different animal altogether, and it's piston-driven.
