NTXshooter Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 Went out to the lease last weekend and this is what I bagged. Got to try out the 300BLK and suppressor for the first time.
98Z5V Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 That's no small bastard, right there! GOOD shot!
suzukiray Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 You RUINED a perfectly good hat band!!! LOL!! Good eating too! Ray.
NTXshooter Posted May 5, 2015 Author Report Posted May 5, 2015 (edited) Lease is just West of Seymour, Texas. Saturday must have been perfect weather for snakes. I talked to a couple of other people and between the three of us we killed 5 snakes. That one measured 3' long and about 3" in diameter. Thankfully he was nice enough to rattle so I could freak out  and jump back before he coiled to strike . Then I let him have it :auto: . Good thing I had made a trip to the latreen earlier or I would have had to change my shorts. Edited May 5, 2015 by NTXshooter
washguy Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 Oh so its by the crooked river ranch near albany? Great dove hunting and quail used to be great too :) Wash
NTXshooter Posted May 6, 2015 Author Report Posted May 6, 2015 Albany is down south, I am west of Seymour. Similar country though.
Magwa Posted May 6, 2015 Report Posted May 6, 2015 looks like a pregnat female you got more than one good job......
mrmackc Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 NTX Shooter it looks like your hunting lease may be getting some rain ground looks awfully. dry in your photo. I was in the area on weekend of 4/24-25 east of Seymour near Mankins for my High School reunion They had good thunder storms from I-20 to Wichita Falls. Sunday the Brazos was running full South of Mineral Wells.
Hueblerking Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 Drove from Dallas to Lubbock yesterday. Greenest I've ever seen it coming up on the cap...beautiful country.
Armed Eye Doc Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 My dad grew up in Rhineland which is about 25 miles west near the Brazos River. We still have land out there that we shoot on. I have always said there are only two reasons to be out there. You either know someone or you're lost.
Robocop1051 Posted July 9, 2015 Report Posted July 9, 2015 Butter and McCormick Montreal steak or chicken seasoning.... yum
NTXshooter Posted July 9, 2015 Author Report Posted July 9, 2015 Doc, My lease is actually less than 10 miles east of Rhineland on the Brazos. I don't think anybody drives through there without a purpose. Robo, I'll have to remember the sauce next time. Never tried rattlesnake before.

Robo, I'll have to remember the sauce next time. Never tried rattlesnake before. Is that South of Vera on US 82? and North of Munday? I was raised in that area East in Wichita County near Lake Kemp and Lake Diversion. That is not too far SW from Waggoner 3 D ranch.
Armed Eye Doc Posted July 9, 2015 Report Posted July 9, 2015 Rhineland is north of Munday on FM267 and south of 82/114. It is in Knox county. If you want to be in the middle of nowhere, that is the place to be. But it sure gets hot there.
shepp Posted July 9, 2015 Report Posted July 9, 2015 Butter and McCormick Montreal steak or chicken seasoning.... yum I'm pretty sure Montreal streak makes everything better
NTXshooter Posted July 9, 2015 Author Report Posted July 9, 2015 North of Munday. My lease is off of FM 2534. I have no good reason to get out there from the end of Turkey season until September when it's time to get the feeders going again. Just about everything there either stings, sticks or bites you.

Sounds like up where I deer hunt in northern WI, if the tricks don't suck you dry the Mosquitos will then the black flies will finish you off!!! And around my buddies cabin there are these fishing spiders the size of a coffee can, I fukk'n hate spiders they make me scream like a little girl!!
Robocop1051 Posted July 9, 2015 Report Posted July 9, 2015 I'm pretty sure Montreal streak makes everything better No hunting bag is complete without them...
NTXshooter Posted July 10, 2015 Author Report Posted July 10, 2015 No hunting bag is complete without them...20150709_143314.jpg It's on the shopping list for the next trip to the store.
Robocop1051 Posted July 10, 2015 Report Posted July 10, 2015 I swear I've eaten many things people would believe inedible, just add seasoning.
Armed Eye Doc Posted July 10, 2015 Report Posted July 10, 2015 I swear I've eaten many things people would believe inedible, just add seasoning. If you've been out where the snake was harvested, the inedible things are the burritos in the convenience stores along the way. No amount of seasonings can save those things. :puke:
Robocop1051 Posted July 10, 2015 Report Posted July 10, 2015 You've never eaten the hotdogs sold in the parking lot after a Raider game. It's amazing that 4 hours of Jack Daniels can't even mask the flavor... it's even more amazing that you start to like them, and crave them in the off season. Luck would have it... the same little Mexican lady, with the same little homemade grill... also makes nuclear dog at the Athletics and Giants games.
planeflyer21 Posted July 11, 2015 Report Posted July 11, 2015 Robo will impress me if he scarfs some grilled mammary gland lining.
