My buddy has one. I like it. Reticle can wash out a little in certain circumstances but it feels really solid.

It would work better than some in a world without batteries if that were ever necessary. I wonder what height 'iron' sights it needs? Don't know anything about the absolute or co-witness stuff, yet

Surprised someone doesn't have a variable magnifiyier for red dot/holographic sights. The EoTech in .308 had ranging marks to 12 hundred meters usless without magnification.

I don't like the stand alone magnifier. They tend to be even heavier than the optic itself, and really make the gun top heavy.

Don't  think it needs to be fully variable either. On my 1-6, I don't imagine I'll ever use 2x-5x, you just need the 1x and the max. That elcan seems like the best idea out. But so damn expensive.

Hmmm, what can I sell.....

Looks like it's not over....Just got a postcard from EoTech saying there is an ongoing class action lawsuit and I will be getting a $22 voucher for EoTech products for each HWS I turned in. Says people who kept their sight can get up to a $100 voucher or something like that.

Just used my $22.50 voucher to order a camelback water bottle from the eotech site. Cost me $3.50 out of pocket. Almost went for the coffee mug and it would have been free.

I almost tossed it because initially the voucher didnt cover shipping and shipping was $8-12. I saw on the AR15 forum someone mentioned they changed it to cover the total order but all the cheap stuff was out of stock. I got a restock alert yesterday and tried it and it went through. Only a $15 bottle but ill take it for $3....and any settlement money not used probably goes to the lawyers.

That's the key, right there.

I never filed shiit for my 512.  I baked that poor bastard twice at 170 in the oven, just to Cerakote it.  Twice.

It still works like a champ.

I doubt anyone who turned them in would have had a problem. I made a profit on the deal and didnt feel bad about it since eotech was being shady by not disclosing a known issue. I just wanted an Aimpoint :)
