Uh oh Frank...it's been a while since THE RULE has been invoked, but I think you just went and did it.

Hmmmm, I'm sure I'll find out what this rule is?

Looks  like a good sight,other IDF sights had a less than glowing review.This seems like a newer model.They might have resolved thier issues of washout and less than bright outdoors.Shield was $446.00.w/Brownells lifetime warrenty.

Ahhhh, THE RULE. Yep looks like the rule is in play here, looking forward to hearing what this MSE is all about ;-)

Compared to the Shield SIS the MSE flippin HUGE. Actually, compared to any RDS I've ever seen it's flippin HUGE. But now I'm more interested in finding out what THE RULE is haha

Well Frank, we sort of have a rule round these parts. If you ask for an opinion on a cool part, and nobody here has tried it, you volunteer to be the guinea pig. :D

THE RULE is how I ended up drilling out the gas port on my first 308 build, asked if anyone had heard of X-Caliber Barrels, nobody had tried one so now we all know about them....I got lucky, they were on sale and with the knowledge base here guiding me I was able to end up with a decent shooter.

I've seen good reviews on the MSE but then they are from the same gun rags that gave the R-51 good reviews..................

OK, as soon as all 5728 forum members chime in that they haven't tried the MSE I'll order one ;) In the meantime there are some quirks about the company that I'd like to look into, such as the fact that you can't find the sight on their site and they mainly provide things like machine-shop services & hydrographics, or that when you plug their address into Google Earth it lands you smack on top of the Spring Valley Community Church Office bldg.

I was in a similar situation last year and bought a somewhat unknown rds by armasight. Nothing really wrong with it, but it was nothing special and I traded it off. Sort of my little lesson to only buy well known and vetted optics. If it is discontinued, most likely a reason for that.

Found out a few things about the MSE's. Apparently the ACQ-1B that I linked to is discontinued and is no longer made by the mfgr. The ACQ-2C linked by jtallen has a (highly undesirable) visible laser designator but the AQC-2D found here http://www.asiascopes.com/riflescopes-sights/mse.html and here http://www.asiascopes.com/riflescopes-sights/mse/mse-aqc-2d-reflex-sight-black.html has a visible laser designator and/or IR. Also read some info indicating that CCA (Command Arms) is the sole importer of the MSE sights and they only have the Hartman MH1, available for pre-order only, here http://store.commandarms.com/hartman-red-dot-reflex-sight-1/ but the PTT is no longer supplied and is optional for an additional $50. Hartman’s site in Israel found here http://hartman-il.com/

I think THE RULE gives a certain time limit then if nobody chimes in with a review it's on you.

Here is a link to one for sale;

http://www.reilens.com/mse-aqc-2c-reflex-sight-black.html

On Optics Planet they list them as discontinued so maybe there is an issue with them;

First off, Rule 65b always applies.

Second, "The Rule" forced me to buy a $70 custom stainless steel bolt catch and a $1000 carbon fiber wrapped barrel. I may also owe my addiction to BattleComp to "The Rule" as well.

THE RULE

If you post, inquiring about a product, be it new or old, and no one responds with a review within 48 hours, you are hereby required to buy said product, and review that product, so that this rule doesn't apply to the next person with the same inquiry. "The Rule" shall not apply to the announcement of new or upcoming products, unless there is some context inquiring as to who will be the first to assume ownership of said product. At that point "The Rule" will once again apply to the poster, who will be obligated to be the first in the stated question.

While this shouldn't need to be stated... pictures are required, or that schit didn't happen.
