NTXshooter
Yesterday was election day. In Texas, there was a constitutional amendment to make hunting, fishing, and the harvesting of animals a constitutional right. It passed with 81% approval. YES!!!. And Saturday is opening day of deer season. What a way to start November.

sketch
Sweet how does that work?
EngrBob
I voted yes as well and will be heading to the lease on Friday for Saturday's opening. Unfortunately most of the deer in the area of the lease are Mule Deer rather than Whitetails so there may be no shooting but it will be great to be out and getting some exercise (and since I turn 68 next week I need it). shepp
+1 Does that mean residents do not need a license to hunt?+2 and if so how are they going to replace that revenue
EngrBob
No change in license prices but for us senior citizens a license is $7 and I believe the regular license is something like $27.
Armed Eye Doc
It doesn't change anything. It tries to make sure nothing does change in the future with the influx of hippies.Comments by Supporters. Supporters of the amendment feel that animal rights groups and anti hunting activists may try to impose stricter limits on hunting and fishing in this state, and supporters therefore seek constitutional protection for those activities as a preventive measure to preserve the opportunity to hunt and fish for future generations. survivalshop
I also think it was because the anti hunting a$$holes were interfering with hunters & now they can be prosecuted for interference & fined .

GRA
I voted for it. I'm glad it passed. From now on if hunters are harassed by PETA or other squareheads while hunting they can go to jail for that too.
