Hello from Houston

Hello to everyone. As the title suggests, I live in Houston. I'm an Army veteran and active LEO. I've been interested and involved in shooting since I got my first Daisy Red Ryder when I was 8. I started reloading about 26 years ago. I got bit by the AR bug when I was in the Army and unlike most of the guys I served with, loved all the time I got to spend shooting for free. A day at the range was a like a day off from work for me and I spent as much time doing it as I could get away with and went to every small arms related class I could. These days, I spend a lot of my free time either reloading for my next range trip or generally tinkering around in my reloading room. I've built several AR15s and variants and recently decided to take the plunge into the big  bore AR pond. I built a .308 on an Aero Precision platform with mostly Aero Precision parts.

I look forward to being a part of this forum.

That's the truth, in a big way - the general public (General Population - Gen Pop in prison terms   :laffs:) doesn't even realize that most military people are NOT gun people.  I was a gun guy, and militarily, the people I worked with didn't or couldn't understand it.  Once training was conducted, and shiit explained, they got it - kind of.

Glad you joined, thanks for your service, and welcome aboard.

Nice. I've got a '74 Sportster too that is something of a long term project. I rode it daily for several years then bought a new bike. First new Harley was a '95 Dyna, next was an '08 Street Bob. Finally decided to get the Road Glide 2 years ago because my better half really likes to ride too and wanted a little more comfort. Yes, I realize I mistyped in the last post....I guess I was reminiscing on my Street Bob....

Bought a '69 sport before I went into the service, then a '72 glide after and made the sporty a bar hopper, sold them both and bought the '80.

Been my .. (as my wife calls her) .. "mistress" ever since. Can't sell it, took the wife on our first official date and later when I proposed. She says I will go before the bike does.
