I have 2 alarms with impressive barks that provide me with ample time to be alert as well as potential intruders something to think about before entering.  But I do not live in a rural setting at the moment. 

Here they are guarding my legs.  No one got close.

That is why you always have two separate systems covering each other.

Not directly on topic but since we are talking security systems...if you ever get a call from the telemarketer “we are selling xyz security systems”, tell them no thanks I already have a system (whether you do or not). They may be looking for targets.
