SolidBuilt Posted November 13, 2022 Report Posted November 13, 2022 I've always had shotguns and pistols in Florida, but when I moved out Hawaii 10 years ago, I only had my glock. Then during covid I got into rifles, then I really got into rifles and bought/ built 9 of them within a year. Kind of nuts, but I'm having a blast with it. First 2 were Mini-14's in 5.5.56 Then a Ruger American Hunter in .308 Then I built (2) AR-10s... 16" battle rifle and 18" dmr with a Bartlein barrel in .308 (LR-308 DPMS) Then I built my wife an Ar-9, and added a Taccom feed ramp for amazing reliability with hollow points Then finally decided to build an AR-15. Then ammo started adding up, so I built (2) 10/22's I'm hoping to gain a lot of technical insight and knowledge from this group. I'm a contractor by trade, and I really enjoy building things and putting stuff together and making the best of the best.

BrianK Posted November 16, 2022 Report Posted November 16, 2022 Welcome to the forum from Maine! Like unforgiven I thought most of that stuff was a no-no in Hawaii too.
SolidBuilt Posted November 17, 2022 Author Report Posted November 17, 2022 Aloha gang- Hawaii is strict on pistols and carry laws... but, they're actually pretty good about long guns. There aren't too many restrictions on rifles and shotguns... But you do have to register all of your guns with the police department.

Registration is confiscation Canada recently reclassified a bunch of guns as prohibited. Now at one point e had to register all fire arms, those classed as restricted( handguns,ARs ) and non restricted(rifles, shotguns) Back in 2011 the Canadian Conservitive government eliminated the registration of non resticted firearms. Now the recent reclassification included a number of non restricted firearms. Of course they can't confiscate what they don't kinow about. To my American friends, you can bet that Joe and his ilk are carefully watching what's happening on my side of the border. Mostly because the current government has done end runs and creative use of legistative powers to make things tougher.
