I did make it! I had lunch with JBMatt and shot the shit for the afternoon. I wish we had more time, but he was "working".

Exactly.  I was interested in a specific product at the 2019 show, wanted it bad.  They told me they can't sell anything....   BUT!...  If I'm around Friday mid-day to help them tear down, they'd list me as "contracted show disassembly help" and pay me after teardown.  They gave me the product I wanted, for helping take things off one of the display racks...  

That's how it works, sometimes...   Make communication, establish a rapport, visit back...   It's all about connections.
