carnivore Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 I joined this site a while back, and I wanted to say thank you to everyone for all the great info here!I recently traded my AR 15 for this LR 308. It had a not so great paint job on it, and when I stripped it the black factory finish just didnt look good, so I decided to do a camo paint job that was similar to Atac. Once it was done I bought a Millet scope with the Atac camo already on it. As it turned out they matched pretty well. As a side note, I'm quite impressed with the accuracy of this rifle. It has no problem holding 3/4" groups at 100 yards.
planeflyer21 Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 Very nice! That may well be the pattern I've been looking for...hhmmm...Jon
imschur Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 Nice rifle. Beautiful chairs too <thumbsup>
Robocop1051 Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 Very nice! Are you taking orders?
98Z5V Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 carnivore, that is EXCELLENT work on that paintjob!!! <thumbsup> You knocked that outta the park, man. Fine, fine work. :happydrunks:
george_995 Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 What did you use to paint the rifle? Duracoat, krylon? Looks awesome. <thumbsup>
unforgiven Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 Helluva paint job brother carnivore, outstanding great blend of colors. <thumbsup>
carnivore Posted December 13, 2012 Author Report Posted December 13, 2012 What did you use to paint the rifle? Duracoat, krylon? Looks awesome. <thumbsup>I know some cringe at the thought of it, but I used Krylon. I like it that I can change or repair it easily, and it is actually a lot more durable that I thought it would be. I really appreciate the compliments guys!
george_995 Posted December 14, 2012 Report Posted December 14, 2012 Thanks, I have no qualms about using krylon. I'm fixin to paint an old redfield scope, then my rifle in due time. I want to do a desert tan or coyote brown base, unsure about which one though. Then replicate a rattlesnake skin affect ( w/ laundry bag mesh drapped over rifle) w/ a dark copper and OD green pattern.
flyingbfarm Posted February 1, 2014 Report Posted February 1, 2014 Very Nice that is the rifle I have its getting threaded for my AAC flashider right now. Next is a cammie paint job
Wolfgang1952 Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) My LR308A2 Carbine. This is my attempt at a flecktan cammo job. It blends in good in my AO. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures. Wolf Edited October 12, 2015 by Wolfgang1952
Wolfgang1952 Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 You sure don’t want to walk off and leave it that’s for sure. This is one of my regular ARs in Flecktarn. Wolf
planeflyer21 Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 I like that even better! That flecktarn shows up awfully cheap in surplus. Really a very good deal.
Wolfgang1952 Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 I have several sets of fleck. Tanker coveralls, t shirts, gloves, caps, parkers, vials, helmet covers and other what nots. I love my Flecktarn. It works good in my AO.Now it is getting hard to find. I get a lot of my stuff from Hessen Antique. http://www.hessenantique.com/
Wolfgang1952 Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 Thank you. I like the Fleck, and the way it blends in. You just gave me a new name Carnivore aka Wolf
