finished AR15 pistol

Here's my finished side charging ARpistol. i wanted a left side charging but upper receiver for that was non existant from any of the manufacturers.

once everything goes back to normal and part supplies are flowing to distributors again, I will be replacing the carrier with chrome version.

i shot less than 100 rounds through it over the weekend. had about 3 failure to eject which then causes double feed. I dumped alot of oil in the Bolt and extension then shot one full 30rnd mag without any hiccup. I guess i gotta run her supper wet for a couple more hundreds.

AR pistols are great!  Mine has changed a bit since this photo, but it runs perfect.  I replaced the ACE tube with a RRA pistol tube, changed the grip to an MOE K grip, and had my gunsmith shorten an A2 flash suppressor by parting it off at the last band and rethreading it.  It works great, but...

I recently ordered a 7.5" .300 Blk barrel from Red X Firearms since I just started shooting .300 Blk and am very impressed with that caliber.

I have most of the parts needed to make the .300 Blk upper.  Once that barrel gets here, it will be installed pronto, so now would be the time to have any machining done.  I would LOVE to have a side charging handle for it.  Where did you have that work done?

i might go for a 300BLK upper too. undecided whether pistol or rifle.

i got the side charging related stuff from Fulton armoury.

Speaking of side charging..... my side charging handle's threading started to flake.  I noticed around 1/4 to 1/2 inch of thread that was lifted already.

Wasn't very impressed with Fulton's customer service. I email them three times and waited for 3 weeks before they finally responded to my concern. I sent back the carrier and handle over the weekend and i do hope they prioritize warranties.

Soofley, beautiful build.

I wouldn't hold the customer service issue against them. I've dealt with some of the larger online retailers quite regularly since January and it seems that most are very slow. I would say the demand is bogging customer service down. Fulton Armory and JoeBobOutfitters are currently the best IMO for getting items out quickly and packaged well. There have been companies that have never sent me an email acknowedgement or call now months after cancelling certain orders. I try not to hold it against them. You usually have to go to the smaller companies for talk time. Although Heavybuffer.com had a rep call me the night I placed an order. Very professional and a pleasure to deal with.

I NEVER try to instigate sheit, but I'm a firm believer in AR pistols, my Brother Blue.  If you do one, you won't be disappointed.  Inspiration:

That folder attachment is whispering my name...Do they fit the .308s?

Yup! I spoke with Zachary Law (from LAW Tactical) and he said the adapter was actually designed for the SR25 rifle. He was tired of lugging around the giant rifle, and finding adequate means to transport.

Holy Crap! Could that pistol be accidentally fired with the buffer group swung to the side?

That'd make for a bad day.

The rifle can technically be fired when folded. It will fire one time, and then break the locking mechanism, thus requiring replacement.

The locking mechanism prevents the bolt from flying back and hitting the shooter. It is designed so that the lock is broken when fired, instead of the whole assembly shattering.

so i got my replacement BCG back, shot the pistol over the weekend and it was jamming every now and then.

Jam issue:

new round is fed even though the spent case previously shot wasnt fully ejected yet. FTE failure by the looks of it

i am going out again this weekend to try and figure this out. so far i have a couple of ideas.

1) try out different buffer and spring combination. Right now it has spike's pistol buffer assembly including the heavier ST-T2 buffer.

I'll try and see how the pistol perform with carbine spring and buffer.

2) extractor and extractor spring upgrade. Ordered the upgrade kit from BCM. i'm really hoping that this would fix the problem...

but yip i'll find out on sunday if theres any improvement. Any other tricks you guys want to suggest?
