  1. I didn't hear the unfortunate joke, but can I get in on the free beer.:D
  2. We have been to Pike's Peak. My wife got dizzy from the altitude, but no problem in the cabin we stayed in at 9500 feet. All of these are great suggestions. I don't know where we may end up. We may stay in CO if we find somewhere we like. Any unusual concealed carry restrictions in adjoining states I should know about?
  3. I hadn't even thought of that. Thanks
  4. My wife and I are going to Colorado next week. I have a conference to go to in Estes Park starting Thursday. Then we are going to go off-road, camping, and other things that strike our fancy. We may make it to Mt. Rushmore and to Sturgis the week before the rally. I've heard there are quite a few vendors that set up early. We rarely make definite plans for vacations. Anything else in the area that we should consider? I know that I can only carry a gun with a magazine with 15 rounds in Colorado. Are there any similar restrictions in neighboring states? I know I could look it up, but it's late and I'm being lazy.
  5. An acquaintance of mine is an ear, nose and throat doc and has several suppressors. He advocates them because of the noise reduction. It protects the hearing of everyone, not just those wearing ear protection at that moment. He taught his daughters how to shoot without having to yell over hearing protection or altering sight picture due to external ear protection in the way.
  6. They are getting closer to this. http://youtu.be/7jVsQToSfag?t=43s
  7. Welcome from up I45 a ways.
  8. Nice looking setup. Welcome from a fellow Texan.
  9. That sucks. Looks like it was a good camera.
  10. Welcome from Texas.
  11. In Texas, there is only one specific sign that can forbid a CHL from entering a business not protected in the statute. The law is specific about what it must say and how it must be displayed. Anything else can be ignored.
  12. No arguments here, I also carry a 45 to make as big a hole as possible - first in the mind when it's pointed at a deserving target and in the body when needed.
  13. I read a similar article a year or two ago that went into more detail. If I recall correctly, it talked about bullets that followed blood vessels and channels that may offer an easier path. I don't know where to start looking for it. It is similar enough that it may be an expanded version of the same article.
  14. That is a much better story than mine. <thumbsup>
  15. This is ridiculous! http://buzzpo.com/possibly-biggest-anti-gun-lunacy-year/
  16. Nice going Matt! It sucks to work in a job and be underpaid and unappreciated. Glad you made it out.
  17. Welcome from Texas.
  18. Welcome
  19. I've had that fantasy, but I carry a 45 so I have a happy ending. <hump> <lmao>
  20. That is one of the first things I noticed as well. I usually wear an undershirt so it should not be a big issue with me. It is a little hard to get my Sigma (no laughing) out since it has a wide slide. It says it takes a few days to break in. We'll see.
  21. I went ahead and bought one (even before I knew about "the rule").
  22. That's good to hear. I saw it in a local gun store and was interested but didn't know anything about it. The reviews seem good from what I've read. It can't be worse than a floppy uncle mike's holster.
  23. Has anyone seen or tried these for concealed carry? I was interested in feedback, but I may get one anyway since they are not that expensive. But I will likely get what I pay for. http://www.versacarry.com/
  24. An Israeli doctor says: "In Israel, medicine is so advanced that we cut off a man's testicles, put them on another man, and in 6 weeks, he is looking for work." The German doctor says: "That's nothing, in Germany we take part of a brain, put it in another man, and in 4 weeks he is looking for work." The Russian doctor says: "Gentlemen, we take half a heart from a man, put it in another's chest, and in 2 weeks he is looking for work." The United States doctor laughs: "You all are behind us. Five years ago, we took a man with no brains, no heart, and no balls and made him President. Now, the whole country is looking for work!"
