  1. Nice find. The gun show in mesquite, TX had a couple of booths with a good selection of powder. There were a few 8lb and a bunch of 1lb of various powders.
  2. This is from the article. "The shooter, who has been identified as a solider, 34-year-old Ivan Lopez, is among the dead. Lopez was killed by a self-inflicted wound." It says he was being evaluated for PTSD. It's sad but the early reports don't indicate terrorism. There was a report about a jihadist recruit who was kicked out when the plot was revealed, but that was a different person. Here is link to that article. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/04/01/military-hunts-one-time-recruit-planning-ft-hood-style-jihad/
  3. http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2014/04/02/search-for-active-shooter-on-fort-hood-base/ 4 confirmed dead including the shooter, 14 more are reported injured. Prayers for those killed or injured and their families.
  4. I went to GM after work today. They still had powder from Monday's shipment. I got a pound each of H110 and IMR 8208XBR. There was 1 Unique, 1 Blue Dot, several pounds each of 3031, 4350, 4895, 4064 and at least one more that I can't remember. I had stopped looking in the powder cabinet because all they have had was muzzle loader powder for the last 4-5 months.
  5. With regards to the original topic, I have argued with these exact statistics on an eye doc forum I visit. The stats are usually either minimized in importance or flat out ignored in the conversation since there is little valid response to what is in the data if you are against people legally carrying guns in public.
  6. It was changed in Texas last year as well. No more being concerned with accidentally flashing the gun when bending over.
  7. It does look strange to have a non-CHL holder to be convicted of unlawfully carrying a weapon by a CHL holder. By definition, that should be impossible.
  8. The total CHL count for 2013 was 708,048 and 3,440 instructors. With an estimated population in 2013 of 26,664,574, that makes us 2.66% of the population. CHL holders committed 0.1897% of the total crimes listed in the report.
  9. I haven't been back to the local store. I'll have to hit it soon or wait until Monday when they get another delivery.
  10. That's what I have in my 2010 Challenger. It's a lot of fun.
  11. Chantix, anti-anxiety meds, anti-depression, and anti-psychotic meds can cause very vivid and weird dreams. Any time you are messing around with the mind, there is always a chance of screwing something else up worse than things started.
  12. Welcome from down I-45 a bit.
  13. I saw this on another forum I visit. This looks like it may further damage an already anemic ammo and powder supply. http://bearingarms.com/will-a-belgian-gunpowder-plant-explosion-affect-the-u-s-ammo-market/ There is a follow up report as well. http://bearingarms.com/pb-clermont-evacuation-and-clearing-underway-ammunition-industry-remains-ominously-silent/ FTA
  14. Read what?
  15. A little warped, but then again, so am I. :2nd:
  16. The only time I got money back lately was when I bought a house 5 years ago and got to take a tax credit. It has worked against me ever since.
  17. Here is where they are available on line. http://ammoseek.com/ammo/300-savage
  18. I was gonna say that those tires have a hell of a grip to hold on a vertical surface in the snow. <laughs>
  19. Welcome from Texas.
  20. Just go to Austin and you will see what happens if you let anyone in. It has the same slogan as Portland Oregon.
  21. Nice rifle! :sniper: Welcome from TX.
  22. I concur. Go through PP and get your money back. He can wait on the USPS. You don't have to after this long.
