  1. She was a very badass kid. She was not afraid to pull the trigger on anything that was offered to her. She hit the 200 yd target with Rob's modified PCCarbine on the first shot. Rob wouldn't even try after that.
  2. @shepp can kidnap you on his way one trip. Just like someone needs to drag @imschurand @mrraley to the dessert.
  3. Is this what he has? https://greyghostprecision.com/ggp-ar-mkii-billet-ar-10-receiver-set/ What is he looking to do with his future rifle? That will affect recommendations.
  4. I ran across this earlier and thought it could be useful.
  5. You need to come to see it in person.
  6. A picture from Friday night
  7. Shilen is about 15 miles north of me. I have a 20in Shilen barrel that is waiting for me to put the rifle together. I got it at their annual swap meet in May. If you are close, or can make it for the event, it is worth going. I got my barrel for about $250 off due to an oversized gas port. An adjustable gas block will fix that.
  8. How much did you pay for it?
  9. Welcome to the forum and thank you for your service.
  10. Great story!
  11. It's not the slow motion video, but it's the whole video.
  12. Welcome to the forum. What part of Texas are from? I'm south of Dallas a little bit.
  13. There is lots of info here. Feel free to ask questions if you can't find the answers you are looking for.
  14. You were awesome @Moon Boots. Tom did not adequately describe your awesomeness. It was a pleasure to meet you and have you at the shoot. I look forward to seeing you next year.
  15. I don't remember enough at that hour to know whether I could read it or not. It was definitely worth the effort though.
  16. It was great to see you again @jrtmasp. I'm glad you made it.
  17. You have not had nearly enough rounds through it to say how well it will perform. You should be sure that your rifle is very well lubed each time before a shooting session. It takes lots of lube until the parts work together well. The receiver extension is good. Your buffer is the right length but should be about 5.4oz. It is not heavy enough to control the normal function of the rifle. That said, yours is not functioning normally at the moment. Manufacturers will frequently put a smaller gas port to compensate for the lighter buffer. Sometimes it will function and sometimes it doesn't. I forgot to ask what length buffer spring and how many coils does it have? The spring is another source of recoil malfunction. I also should ask if your rifle will hold open on an empty mag when you hand cycle the last round? @98Z5V can answer the gas port sizing question. He is a savant when it comes to holes.
  18. You know. It's rude to not post a picture of your rifle.
  19. A gas port that is too small will definitely cause it to act exactly like your rifle does. Before you start drilling it (which may be what it needs), there are other questions about the rifle to be answered. 1. How many rounds do you have through your rifle? What ammo are you using? 2. What length gas system? Carbine, mid length or rifle? 3. What length is your receiver extension (buffer tube)? Rifle or carbine? What is the internal depth of it? 4. What buffer length are you using and how much does it weigh? There may be more but that's a good start.
  20. You should have come for the fireside chat last night. It was epic. I can't remember laughing that much in a long time. I don't remember much of the conversation except being called an a$$hole multiple times by @98Z5V and @Matt.Cross. I remember it being a well earned descriptor.
  21. He could go with a 6.5 Creedmoor. Then he would have a set of modern 6.5 caliber rifles.
  22. Thanks You were definitely missed this year Dirk. That can't happen again.
  23. We are part of the way home. We are currently neighbors of @392heminut. I would love to have time to visit with him and his wonderful wife. We just have too far to drive to get home tomorrow.
  24. Double tap at 450 with a baloney sandwich.
  25. Tom has it covered tonight.
