That's a great start. . Have you decided on a barrel yet? I would suggest a 16" at most. With the Minimalist stock, you may be forward heavy and out of balance if you go much longer.

I think this may be internal vs. external dimensions. @Homebuilt, the accepted way to measure receiver extensions is the internal depth. There can be too much variation with external length. 1/8" difference of internal depth or less can be the reason for a rifle to function correctly or not. We are not picky or bitchy but we may be anal about some terms, descriptions or measurements. It is because of the lack of standards across different manufacturers. As you have already discovered, what sound like small details can make a big difference in a rifle's performance. Feel free to ask any questions about compatibility. It is cheaper to ask before buying, unless you say money is not a concern. We can certainly spend your money for you like a soon-to-be ex-wife.

Did it really? It depends on what the desired effect was. If it was to "innocently" offed a bunch of snowflakes, I'd say it was a resounding success.

Many rifles can use either 308 or 7.62x51. Yours may be an exception. If it shoots 308, I would stick with that. You could also try other brands to see if it is only the PPU that it doesn't like.

I can't speak to the BCG quality directly. There was some guy around here that had several of them. Maybe he'll chime in with some input.
