Do you have pictures of the brass, both the damaged and undamaged ones for comparison? What receiver extension (buffer tube) do you have and what is the internal depth? What spring are you using?

It is likely a milspec trigger which are one stage. They are stiff but can be improved with work. I had one milspec trigger in my first AR. It has been replaced with a Larue.

Where did that picture come from? Is it a stock photo from a website or something that you already own? The quick answer is to get a Larue MBT2S. It is a hell of a trigger, especially for the price point. They also have a 1 stage trigger that I haven't tried. Both are available in curved or straight option.

@98Z5V is a real, normal guy. I have met him. At the same time, he is the best friend you have yet to meet. He will give you anything he has to offer and let virtual strangers stay at his house without question. He can also be your worst enemy. If you are an ass, he will call you on it and not let you get away with it. He has the most knowledge of the AR platform of anyone I know. That may be because I have not met @mrraley though. If it is an AR15 carbine tube, it will be 7 inches internal depth. You will need a 2.5" buffer at 5.4 oz. If it is Armalite AR10 carbine buffer tube length, it will be 7 9/16" deep and a 3.25" buffer at 5.4oz will work. The buffer spring may cause a problem as there is no "standard" 308 buffer spring. If it is a rifle buffer spring, you will likely have problems with a carbine buffer tube (more appropriately called the receiver extension)
