Hey...I'm doing my best here....they put these in a couple weeks ago and though I was never "right", I ain't as right as I used to be. I think that's a lovely cross section of one half of the handguard.

Yep. It was the same way here. When we had to put the oldest one down a couple years ago there was a void left and it was noticeable in the (slightly) younger pup. What was interesting was that the young one started displaying habits of the older one soon after. It gets easier for everyone. We still think about her all the time and we are constantly reminded of the fun we had. It's a shame dogs don't live as long as humans. When you get a good one, it would be nice to have them with you through the end.

By my rough calculations....your handguard doesn't fit by about 0.2" ....but i I know nothing about this and probably should just be quiet and watch.

I'm jealous. That sounds like an awesome visit. Family, friends, pork butt, steaks, AND guns! Thank goodness there was no beer involved or it may have been unbeatable.
