  1. My dad picked up some 7x57 today. Should hear in the morning if it fit. He was planning to test fire it tonight too if he got the nod from the owner. It belongs to my aunt's husband. (I'd say uncle, but this is husband number xx...how many uncles can one aunt produce??)((nice guy, like him a lot though)). This rifle belonged to his dad and he wound up with it when his dad passed. He knew nothing about it, but wants to shoot it a little before it gets locked up again for a while. I don't think he's much into guns or shooting, but now he has one with a little sentimental value at least. Keep you posted. Thanks again for the replies.
  2. We do not watch Dora....but I do live in a fairly brown town. For the non Spanglish speakers...that means "help me".
  3. Awesome. Thank you gents. We were guessing there would be something you could cast to measure. I also agree with it being the safest way.
  4. A relative gave my dad a rifle to check out. It's a Venezuelan Mauser but we have no idea what it's chambered for. Best info they could find online lead us to believe it was 7.92x57 or 8mm Mauser...which doesn't drop in. Another recommended .308.....no dice. My research said 7x57 and we haven't tried that yet. Question is....how the hell do you measure a chamber on an unknown barrel? There's got to be a way to do it.
  5. Lmao
  6. ....and where do you stand?
  7. Psssshhhhhh. That all you got? that is a fine looking piece. I really want to see that one up close and in person someday. You've got a damn lucky wife and some serious skills. Excellent work señor!
  8. You know we love you Ed, I just drag stuff out a while
  9. no JB weld? I would have cnc'd "Rem 800" on the knob....free of charge.
  10. Recover quickly. I like the nose ring idea. Whole new meaning to the concept of a cock ring.
  11. It'll be like fifth element. Every time you want to drive you log in your license and it keeps track of your infractions.
  12. If you're last name is weisser...how could you not?

    Fact or Fiction?

It's gotta be like the damn zonies(AZ) out here...come out to borrow our weather and clog up the road.
  14. ^^^ Had a speaker cover the topic of property taxes and some of the laws California has. He had a presentation that included a bunch of newspaper articles. Reading the headlines...it was hard to tell if it was 1970's or today. Same arguments, same battles, same two party bullpoopy.
  15. that sounds just like those living among radical Islamists. That's been going on for thousands of years...I won't hold my breath here. Especially with so many parts of the system incentivizing that form of lifestyle.

    Fact or Fiction?

You sure that ain't a social class??? "d" for dumbass???
  17. poop...California ain't on the list!! my town is a dumping ground for the refugees and transplants.
  18. Most of mine came with them. Hell if I know where half of them went.
  19. That barrel is going to be just fine...and if for any reason it's not, the Criterion guys are top notch and I'm sure they will take good care of you. Shake out all other options first, because IMO the barrel is probably your least likely spot for your current accuracy issue. As mentioned, be sure the optics are mounted solid. Shoot some heavier bullets. Be sure the barrel but is torqued within specs. Let someone you think is a better shooter than you test it out when you've been through the basic checks...not the answer anyone wants to get, but sometimes we gotta check ourselves too. Might just take a little sweet talking to get her warmed up to you. Welcome aboard.
  20. That looks pretty damn nice. I broke an ear off the pin in the last BCG I got that had one of those. It was likely operator error as I had never used one before and might have applied a little too much force putting back in the first time. I'll stick with the cotter pins.
  21. Happy birthday and thanks for sharing!
  22. Still kinda wondering why you were googling gay cowboys.....
  23. Time for a new upper....or a whole new build. Bummer.
  24. In the "building a 308AR section just below this one he has a very thorough run down of his rifle. What at range were you shooting at? 3-4 inches is a lot at 100 yards. You mention long range, so I'm assuming much longer than 100.
  25. I'm just excited as hell to see a double freakin rainbow!
