I missed a chance to put this one in Coyote land in the sky . I could have shot it with my 45-70 , but thought about my neighbors & scrambled for one of my .22's that were put away , but not in time . Watched it look both way & cross the street to the other Power line cut . I did put a 45-70 into one in Ohio this Deer Gun season , long shot in the Fog & it went into the Big Rocks & in the Fog I lost where it went or even precisely where I shot it at .

I don't think , from what I've been reading, that anything changes , they will just narrow the circumstances of their definition for prosecution or charging, for being a Dealer with out a license .

The 7"( std AR 15 ) is mostly used with the DPMS type Buffer systems , the longer ones can be confusing in some ways , Armalite uses a longer Receiver Extension ,longer Spring & longer Buffer( AR 15 length ) Their are others out there ,that use their own Proprietary components also . Some Receiver Extensions are not made the same , some are made a little longer or shorter & have been known to cause issues with 308AR's . Yes , stick with a DPMS LR type system or a AR 10 Armalite systems & if everything is to spec's , there should be no issues . The AR 10 is longer , not sure its 7 3/4 , but it is longer . You also should also be aware , that not all Lower Receiver Manufacturers make there Lower's to the same spec's as , say a DPMS or AR 10 & are made to the particular manufacturers spec's & certain Buffer systems may work better then others . We have seen here that some Manufacturers say they are DPMS types , but will not function correctly with a DPMS type Buffer system , might work better with an AR 10 system or vice versa . some 308 AR's manufacturers are not one the same page as the ones being copied . Some swear by the HeavyBuffers to cure their particular issues & they work fine , he sure makes a good looking Buffer , I have never used one or needed one , I have used DPMS components & have had no issues , of course two of my Lowers are DPMS made. As far as recoil , they say the HB helps & also if a Suppressor is used . The Gas system length has a lot to do with felt recoil as does weight of the rifle & in some ways , the Stock's configuration . These rifles can be turned , by using a regulated Gas system, Buffer weight & Spring for felt recoil , but could also cause function issues , also , with different ammo types , when doing so.

That doesn't mean its correct or will help it function correctly . I have three 308AR's & none of them have an O-ring in them & they all work fine . I had Extraction/Ejection issues with a particular Bolt in my newest 18" build , If you want to read about what I went through with the new D.Wilson Bolt ,go to 308 Parts section & look for D.Wilson Bolts . The Bolt just didn't like the new 18" barrel I had it in , the Bolt works fine in my other 308AR's , I think the Barrel /Bolt fitment was just not compatible . Head Spaced fine in all Barrels , the D.Wilson Bolt is working fine in my 16" Rifle & the 16"'s Bolt , works fine in the new build 18" . Both Bolts were new , so it wasn't a big deal to swap them out . Normally I would not swap Bolts that have been seated in a Particular Barrel . Its a good read on how little it takes for a Extraction /Ejection issue from a Bolt .

I'm the same way , though I did have Class one & three FFL's once & wished I had kept everything I sold when I was one .?

I say ,whoa ! That extractor set up can cause issues because it has too much tension on the fired Case & may not let it go properly , its a timing thing , if it holds on too long or lets go too early , it will have an issue & I doesn't matter who built it or round count . I would replace both the Ejector & Extractor & corresponding springs , you can try one system at a time & see if it works , but I would have both system components on hand , just so they are available . I would change out the Extractor assembly first , but I have seen an Ejector system do the same thing you are describing . No Idea why someone would put two O-rings on the Extractor , sounds like a band-aid to cover a real issue . Also look into what others here are describing , your issue may be multiple components or miss matched or out of spec. issue.

I assume you plan on a Carbine stock set up , by the weight of the Buffer you are referring to. I use the STD DPMS 308 Buffer & Spring in my Carbine stocked rifle with out any issues . What Buffing system or components you use may be determined by the Gas system length you will have on your Barrel . I have rifle length systems on all my 308AR's ( 16",18" & 20" bbl.'s ) & use std DPMS 308 Buffers & Springs in all of them with out issues . A Carbine Gas System may require a heavier Buffer &or stiffer Buffer Spring . You can also use the Complete AR 10 ( Armalite ) Buffer system , which would be their Receiver Extension , Spring & Buffer . The AR 10 Buffer Spring is a little stiffer & longer then the DPMS , but they use a longer Receiver Extension & an AR 15 type ,H Buffer . One thing you should also consider is sometimes , depending on the Components used in a build , that a heavy Buffer or spring or miss matched components ,can cause issues .

I've used them & they work fine . My triggers settled out to about 5 # , I have one in a AR 15 Carbine that came out of my 308AR Carbine , Replaced by Rough Justice FCG from MechArmor . I think my 300BLK has one residing in it also . I like them .

While I also agree its highly unlikely there will be a mass confiscation , but when the right Commie is the POTUS ( as is now ) they can , by EO , ban firearms by the end around our Second Amendment . We really don't know yet, what the wording or description of the new ( unconstitutional ) laws from Buttheads EO 's. I noticed he also pointed out that " His Attorney General . " , not "The AG of the US ", but "his "AG , will put this together . He is as close to being a Dictator as we have ever had in this Country. One other thing you have to take into account is , I'm sure in none of these History events , did these people think the it would happen. As far as how the word would get out , all the Commie's would have to do is , cite National Security issue & all Phones & internet could be shut down . Yes ,they can shut down all phone traffic except for the "911" use. Don't rule out the use of outside forces to be used as peace keepers & security for such an endeavor & I'm not talking about NATO , they will be Americans , specially trained for just this type of operation . Similar to the Spikes Tactical enhanced FCG or the ALG series of FCG . It would be nice if you had a Trigger pull gage to watch how it starts & settles out .

I'm glad you posted this article from the latest NRA magazine , I couldn't figure out how to get that to post in another thread . it shows how gun confiscation can happen over night with the right forces doing it . Most will say it can't happen here & now , I disagree , there are forces out there already planning or plans already ,to do this & Berry's command performance yesterday is showing the way they will chip away to get it done . So , just how many gun's does it take to sell to make you a gun dealer ? I know we already have a description of how the law reads in BATF regulations , but how is it changed now . If I sell one of my guns a year , does that make me a dealer ? Two ? I see a lot of abuse with this Unconstitutional usurping of power by the POSOTUS !

Take that you Armalite pusher's ? , but as said above , there are enough major differences in components to keep the designations of the platforms separate , sure helps in getting the correct parts .

I too have watched many slow motion tests & have never sen anything like that . The new bullet make up / speed of the bullet may cause such effects , just seems to me , it looked like an explosion in that Test Medium . Learn something new every day around here , that explosive charged ammo from WWII is really something .

I don't think it will work the way he wants it to . The NRA will see the multiple memberships & ether put the $$ to a life time membership or keep the extra's for donations or something to that effect. Nor do I think it will effect Blowhardburg . If I'm going to buy someone a Membership in any of the pro gun groups , it will be to someone that I believe is on the fence , as to their belief on the issues & maybe help them get more involved in fighting these A$$holes . I use the Mil Spec. grease , light coating . about a year ago , I replaced the A2 Upper Receiver on my Preban Olympic Arms build , with a TM flat top & the Barrel had been on for well over twenty years & it came off with no problems & there was still the same light coating of grease on the Extension , I couldn't believe it myself , you would think it would burn off or something .

If your fired case is sticking in the Chamber , inspect the Chamber for any imperfections & if rough , do as Washguy described with the Flitz . The Chamber doesn't have to be a mirror finish , but it should not be overly rough . Some times the finishing treatment on the Barrel can make things a little tight . I have a SOW BCG , NIB coated & its working fine . No amount of spring pressure on the Extractor will pull a fired case from the Chamber , if its too rough or if there are imperfections in it . Blowing air can be of some use , but I prefer to measure the port holes to make sure they are properly lined up . Most of the Gas blocks seat flush with the Barrels Gas block flange , mostly all you have to do is line up the Gas Tube correctly in the Upper Receiver & they are good to go . You should be able to push down the Ejector , even on a 308AR , if its too stiff & unable to compress( also if its too weak ) , it can also cause Eject/Extraction issues .

Relieve your Upper Receiver where the Barrel Extension ramps meet the Upper Receiver , it can be done with a small rat tail round file & being careful not to jam the point of the file into the Chamber or a small stone or sanding drum in a Dremel tool , to make sure the ramp is continuous into the Upper Receiver & flow into the Barrels Extension feed ramps . Bending feed lips is good for the Steel mag's , what about the plastic ones ? Are you sure the Bolt is stripping the fresh round from the Mag ? & not the Bolt Carrier or in-between ? If the BC grabs or shoves the fresh round , they will almost always nose dive into the feed ramps. Are you sure your Mag catch is set correctly ? You say this issue happens with any Buffing system you try , does this mean the Receiver extension has been swapped out to test a different one ? I'm not one for light weight Buffer or BCG systems or adj. gas systems , to me its just looking for added issues . If anything , get them broke in with std components & then once the rifle is broken in & barrel is seasoned ( if needed ), then you can swap out different components , one at a time , to set them up & test function.

The flash & smoke , the smoke was like it was smoking a cigarette . Unless they shot that Gelatin with the Barrel almost touching ( which we didn't see in the video ) something had to burn or explode in the test media .
