  1. What , we have to watch his toe nail rot & fall off now . <laughs>
  2. No rule applies IMO . CMMG ? Not me !
  3. Oh, Now your going to start a Glock debate ? <lmao>
  4. Those are interesting , looks like the Barne's 110 gr. TAC Are they available ?
  5. The flat head pin with the slit at the end , is what comes in most 308 BCG 's . Its the original pin design, I believe. I'm not sure when the M16 Family of Firing pin retaining pin changed , something to look up or some brainiac here may know already .
  6. I never measured one , but that's not much of a variance in the length of a bolt & if its NIB coated , could make a slight difference. The firing pin stop is in the Bolt Carrier, though a too long of tail or the OL of the Bolt , could cause problems . I have three around here I can measure , ( 1 FA , 1 DPMS & 1 SI d., how did you measure it ? From end to end ?
  7. The AR rifle design in 308/7.62x51 is not a mil spec design ( except in looks ) even the "all Powerful , AR 10 " , is not , sorry Rsquared <dontknow> <laughs>
  8. Your comparing a 130 gr. bullet to a 180 gr. bullet , the Velocity of the 130gr. is what is matching the slower 180 gr. & you can put those theoretical statistics from a load calculation all you want , but you will find the 180 gr, 30'06 will print a better group at 500 yards, wind or not , it doesn't take much being off , for the bullet to miss or wound at those types of ranges. We all know the wind is going to play havoc on a light bullet & that's just from my experience. I'm already on record ,that for hunting cartridge , there is little difference between the two. I read not too long ago, that the 30'06 is the most popular hunting cartage in the USA & the 30'30 was next . <dontknow>
  9. 110 Barnes & Hornady V-max
  10. I'm more into being incognito any more , the less anyone see's or hear's about me the better ! The problem with SM is its being manipulated by the owner's/operators or who ever they want to give your info to. Stange , we never had this crap thirty years ago & since I got all the names & address's of those I wanted to contact after leaving the Service , I had no problem getting in touch with them afterwards. I look at the wives when she has it open & " chatting " It like a big Gossip fest . Oh , I cut & colored my hair , how does it look ? <laughs> Donnie got into Hockey , bla blaw Blaw !
  11. The Heavy bullets will make a difference at longer range . <munch>
  12. Talking about ounces & gram's , I don't think you will notice the difference . Now if your talking of pounds shaved off , that ,you will feel . The US Military stopped using the Pencil type barrels for a reason & it wasn't because they wanted to add weight to the rifle . ( GI's were bending them , in all kinds of ways ) I like short thick barrels's ( not Bench weight ) & I also like to have the ability to replace or remove to clean, the Muzzle device .
  13. Well , it looks MilSpec , could that be one ? <laughs>
  14. Tell us how you really feel , no sense candy coating it . <lmao>
  15. The FaceBook owner is too, pro " The Queen " & that's why I deleted my FB account , not that I ever used it, my Daughter set it up for my a few years ago & thought I would keep in touch . Yes ,don't put anything , anywhere , on the net , if you want it to be private , cause it won't be .
  16. Propaganda from the anti's . They have nothing lately to talk about , no horrible black rifle incidents . If we were talking about rifles I have heard of that had work done to them or the owner altered , then I would say yes , I have heard or Rem . 700's malfunctioning that were altered or not taken care of . A couple of hunting seasons ago I had my 870 Mag. pump gun go off with the safety on , not same firearm or action , but the trigger system had been sent out & altered ,as in a trigger job. The tip of the Hammer sear had sheared off , the heat treatment on these modern rifles is thin , just like any AR std. trigger set, you have very little to play with , if any . That's why I like the after market trigger systems so much.
  17. Wouldn't matter which . Unless you wanted to penetrate a hardened surface , then the availability of an excellent 30'06 AP round would shine .
  18. ALG , Act trigger set , around $ 70 .00 , not a match trigger , but mine break at 5 pounds & are a world away from the Mil spec trigger . The Spike's Enhanced Trigger set Is also nice for about the same price . I prefer the Act , its Mrs. Geissele's company <thumbsup>
  19. Forget the " Mad Minute " , its the " Mad Hour "
  20. <thumbsup>
  21. CNBC ? There's no anti gun sediment there . I remember reading about a child that died from his mother by a 700 rifle , she was removing the rifle from a scabbard on her horse & it went off , so they say , if I remember correctly , But I never read of any testing of said rifle to see if it was malfunctioning . Never heard of any malfunctions of the 700 till then & haven't since .
  22. Who is " Our Barrels " ?
