I watched the four videos & some things said were not exactly correct .
First & this is no big deal to me , but they were referring to 308AR's as all AR 10's , which is no big deal , the only ones that will take offense is some Armalite AR 10 owners , but they are different rifles in some ways . They did specify the GII though .
The Remington guy , well he works for them & this rife was sent to this group for testing , which is something I would never do for testing & expect to get the same results as if you got one off the shelf . Just to me ,its not a accurate way or with some of the manufacturers in past test firearms, an honest way of testing a firearm. Because some in the past have sent gone over or altered factory test beds.
The two Ejector & fancy material extractor explanations were lame .I don't buy it , I have shot some much ammo from semi & select fire 5.56 & 7.62 rifles & never had one fail !( I did have an extractor break in my select fire ,FNHB once , It was surplus Israeli parts & have no idea the history was on it , that I can not qualify its breaking as it failed . If it was new yes , but that extractor could have had tens of thousands of rounds throughout it & I wouldn't know )The point is I have never had an extractor or ejector fail ,except for that one . I don't like weakening the Bolt by adding another hole in it .
These guy's talked like the AR 10 & other 308AR's are junk & none of them will even work the first 100 rounds ! Seems to me, they haven't shot them much , I could be wrong , but just doesn't seem like there experiences went well with the 308's . I can say I have shot thousands of rounds through both my 308 AR's with no problem ( I don't count the PMags not working with CMMG lower because it ran flawlessly with any steel mag put in it, the CMMG lower in no longer in use ) . I don't clean my AR's very much , just a patch or two down the barrel if doing ammo comparison testing , which I have been doing a lot lately .
The explanation of the steel feed ramp made some sense , but I believe there is more to it than was lead on to .
The change in the Bolt Carrier Key from a bolt on to a integral extension with replaceable tube ? & he says , we got rid of the Key tail & that made more room to make the BCG smaller , well you didn't get ride of anything , where the tail of the Key was , its now an integral key , so to speak .
These guys may be the $hit in the gun world , but I feel they don't know much about the 308 Platform . The rifle still interests me & they say they will put 3500 rounds through the rifle by the end of the five day course with out cleaning , just maintenance oiling & I can't wait to see their end review.
Just my Opinion .
