  1. Make sure it has complete freedom of movement with out being restricted or rubbing in any way . Spring may be stiffer with the Custom Release ,because of how its made , putting more force against the Spring , more than the STD Bolt catch/stop. Catch itself may be interfering with BCG travel .
  2. If I was riding that thing , you would have seen a brown streak all the way to the end or the run . <lmao>
  3. Yes , with the proper tapered drill bit or milling bit & make a jig for port/gas tube alignment . You could do it by eyeing it , but a jig makes things some much less trouble & to proper spec's. Also have to remember that a std A2 sight"s gas port may be made to sit away from the barrels shoulder for a hand guard cap to fit between the sight & barrels shoulder. .
  4. Ahhhh, the internet , find anything you want to hear & then some . <laughs> I also would send them work & not think twice about it . Rainier , would work also & there are more out there .
  5. Nikon, Burris , I do like the Vortex scopes ,for up to 300 yards , good clear 3x9x40 will work . Great Avatar you have there . <thumbsup>
  6. First I have heard of any complaints .
  7. Looked like a .22LR to me also . Yes, if you load ammo in it , its a Magazine .
  8. https://www.adcofirearms.com/ Even if your barrels have been set up for the Taper pins for an A2 front sight /gas block , if you are not using the one that was fitted to that particular barrel , might have fitment or gas port alignment problems. Call or email ADCO & they will direct you as to what they or you can do . If using a clamp on or set screw type A2 type sight/gas block , installing will not be a problem & no need to send them off .
  9. The 325 FTX is one of the ones I want to try , the other is a Barne's Original Spitzer type , might even go to 400gr. , but the 325 gr. FTX is quite appealing , if its anything like their XTP Bullet , they work real well . I will be using a scoped ,NEF 45-70 for Hunting in Gun season , in Ohio next year , if they keep them as an option next year .
  10. <lmao> I just got back from Hunting in Ohio & it was on the cold side there , when I left. Nice to be back in shorts .
  11. Anyone loading for the 45-70 Gov. for Hunting & what Bullets are working best for you ?
  12. Found some info on there barrels & most were so so , as far as how the barrels shot . No real info on this barrel in particular & its not unheard of for company's to miss label the fitment for the barrel , it could be for an Armilite or DPMS , hard to tell . Call or email the Company, good luck . Why not just get a DPMS type barrel , there are plenty on the market that are available for DPMS pattern rifles . Unless you are building an AR 10 , why bother with miss matching components , when so many are available .
  13. Going to whip the other two out if I keep seeing a one sided bike thread <thumbsup>
  14. Too many rice grinders in this thread <laughs>
  15. I've seen photo's of some with serial numbers , not sure what that means . I also read that the shotgun barrel has notches for the screws or has to be machined for them, if you looking for the shotgun .
  16. After case forming ,the case will be fire formed after the first firing & as long as it doesn't read 30'06 on the base , you will never know it was one by looking at it . Annealing will make the case last longer for reloading , of course.
  17. With once fired 308 brass so redly available , why bother . Another thread for the reloading section.
  18. I read an article from some engineer , may have been in ARFCOM , he did microscopic examination of loaded ammo ,with photo's ,of smokeless powder after different lengths of time in a tumbler & Chronograph results & it showed none or very little difference in powder granule size or Velocity results . That showed me that what I was doing by tumbling live ammo , made no difference in the make up or outcome of doing so .The only ones I don't tumble after loading is most HP bullets , I hate digging that crap out of the HP cavity .
  19. Win 97 trench gun bayonet mount /shield , I believe it take a 1903 rifles bayonet , but not sure .
  20. Its clean & that's what you need for reloading. You can tumble them in normal Walnut or Corn cob type media after loading if you want to shine them up better & also remove your finger oils from them , from reloading , because the oils from your hands can discolor them with time . Clean ammo will cause less wear to chamber .
  21. I still have a few & use them for load development , have had no problems with them , but some say they are too soft for AR's .
  22. 98 , could you take some the surger coating off that , so I can use that advice . <laughs>
  23. Yes . Barnes , Hornady GMX's ,& some of , I have no idea who made them , but they shoot decent enough .
  24. Who's first ? I'm not sold on the roller bearings , interesting though .
  25. Depends on what I'm doing with the rifles , if testing for working up loads . I swab the bore after every day of testing . If just shooting , might go for a long time between cleanings .
