  1. Could be , but they shoot really well . At least the two Kreiger Criterions from FA. I have do.
  2. Pretty much every one has a some what different cheek weld . Its all about how your face is made up , some have rounder faces , some have thinner faces , which puts the cheek in a different position on a stock . The PRS & there are others , is one that will adj. for many differences in face bone structure , I rest my face on the stock with the stock under my cheek bone , which may be what they are talking about & I have to use Xtra high rings on all my AR's , be it a rife or collapsable . The bad thing about the PRS is , its a heavy stock , being its got all those controls on it . Ring manufacturers measure ring height in different ways & that can mess with your cheek weld also or any measurement. I use a ruler set to measure vertically , so I can read it from my cheek weld position & when you look down the rifle , you can see about what measurement you want or you can set a low ring on the rail & raise it a little at a time to see where its center measures , when it looks right. Ether way it a hassle , but once you have a ring height ( theres a lot of different ones out there ),your set for that particular stocks cheek weld . For those that no ring set up is correct & yes some just don't work , an adjustable cheek riser is the answer. There is also stick on pads that attach to the rifle stock , in different thicknesses to compensate for ring height or lack of it . Some collapsable stocks have adjustable risers also. (Magpul for one )
  3. Check this out .
  4. That's a good question , I have never worked with them . I had a size chart , but it didn't copy correctly , but here's a sight to show it . Scroll down for sizing chart. http://www.dave-cushman.net/shot/berdan_supplies_dimensions.html
  5. All 308 AR's are on the heavy side compared to AR 15/M16's . Its all about the cartridge (s) the are designed to shoot .
  6. That pin set up on the gas block above is not like the tapered pin set up on a standard A 2 sight gas block on a M16/AR 15 . You better be sure the gas port alignments are correct before doing any drilling ,its a one shot deal .
  7. Make sure you send the video to Bushnell . <thumbsup> I would be using the Burris Extreme Tactical rings on that rifle , damn things are built to take it , more tube clamping area ,not sure if that would have made a difference with the Bushnell though.
  8. Here's the difference in shaft lengths of a DPMS type & Amalite mag releases , the Amalite is the longer one .
  9. I have never needed to cut a gas tube down , not sure how that would work out . The gas block end is caped & the key end has a slight bulge at the Carrier Key end . I suppose a Dremel with a cut off wheel would do a clean job , but makes you wonder where the shift or rise in the tube to clear the barrel nut would come out . Kinda makes you wonder why the gas system on the barrel was made that way , unless they had barrels or purchased barrels made for Armalite type rifles & installed DPMS barrel extensions on them . Like we don't have enough variances in the 308AR platforms .
  10. There is new unfired boxer primed stuff out there , but its expensive & I know he's looking for fired brass.
  11. The M1 Garand was used in the CQB . wonder what the weight comparison is between the two . Just saying . <laughs>
  12. Photo of your rifle or is it like the one photo posted in the first post .
  13. Besides , the bastard bit me ! <lmao>
  14. Not hurting & I have had it for over 28 years , so its not like I just got it . <laughs> The only reason I will sell a firearm is to get something better & I sold it today . It was a very good investment <thumbsup>
  15. Nail was not effected , so he can withdraw the drool. Here's the offender .
  16. The swelling has gone down a little today.
  17. You can't go wrong with the TacOps-1 charging handle . The 16" bbl. will work & will help keep the weight down .
  18. Photo's of you muzzle device . So we can see how its attached.
  19. I'm thinking of selling my Mac 10 & got it out of the safe to check it over . Haven't looked at it or shot it , for a couple of years. I was checking the outside & decided to check the action , & since its open bolt , I locked it back couple of times & pulled the trigger to make sure bolt dropped. Then decided to make sure it worked in semi auto ( I think I only put the selector in that mode , once , well it worked a couple of times , then it hung up & pulling the trigger , bolt wouldn't drop , WTF , so I wrapped my left hand around the lower receive to check the charging handle & bam , the bolt dropped & my finger next to the little one , took a bolt close on the tip of it . Lucky it only got a glancing blow , because it took the skin right off , well nearly off , I flapped it back over , but not before the red stuff started to flow , my blood thinner doing a good job keeping the flood gate open . My wife looked at me & said , " you OK " , then the red stuff gave her the answer . A clean up & band aid & back to seeing if I could do it again , only because I had to see if I could replicate the Malfunction , but I couldn't make it show back up . No where near the " Thumb " photo's seen else where in this Forum , but I took the bandage off to change it & took a photo . I have to down load them . :hornet: I don't think my MAC wants me to sell it . <dontknow>
  20. That will work . <thumbsup>
  21. Why not buy or build another Upper assembly for your 308AR . A good place to remove some weight . What stock & hand guard are you using on the 308AR you took hunting ?
  22. I believe Nikon is phasing out the Buckmaster line & it looks like the Prostaff 5 is replacing it . Other wise I would have thought they would have replaced it with another Buckmaster . Why they would replace or stop making the Buckmaster is beyond me .
  23. What trigger do you have in this rifle ?
  24. I don't think my dog's would like that leash .
  25. He's got something in there ! <laughs>
