Maybe I missed it...are these suppose to work with poly mags? Guy I work with just got one and its fine with metal but we tried Troy, pmags, and lancers with no luck. They will lock in if you wiggle them enough but they are loose and the mag release gets really tight. He says you can rip them out without the mag release if you pull hard.

so ill have a pile of PMAGS, a few lamcers, a few troys, and a few tangodown ARC mags. guess i can load different ammo in each mag type!

that raptor looks pretty cool. i have gunfighters on my 5.56 guns and like them. dont think id pay any extra for an ambi setup. i have a badger tac latch on my .308 and its not the same. soon as i find a good deal ill upgrade to a nice one.

i ordered one from DSG on 12/29 but i added it to the 10pack of pmags. i did notice the status went from 1 backordered to 0 backordered. hope that means they set it aside to ship with the others and i didnt loose out.

GAH! ill never get my backordered Pmags! guess i better grab a stock while i can. might take them a while to re-tool.

I think the connector piece defeats the purpose of a lightweight hand guard Unless you have a pile of attachments all the way down the rail. If you are scoped and its mounted to the receiver it wont do much. If you have a buis on the end it might keep it slightly more solid..but most of those builds use a gas block buis. I also think it looks completely awesome and would love to build a mod0 clone.

You can use it without that long rail. The standard rail sections that come with it are receiver height (unless you want the delta rail) the bolt in long rail justs connects the handguard to the rcvr.

Im glad they have a limit. Too many dbags would just buy them all and sell them on ARF for $60 each. Already saw a bunch of new pmag adds on backpage. No doubt they came from the same shop. Cant really blame them for jacking prices up if someone else is just going to profit on their decency.

I just got home from kalifornistan. I was talking shop with an uncle who recently bought a MP15. Hes already taken 2 carbine classes and plans on more training. Another uncle (typical wealthy marinite) starts asking the normal "why" questions and none of my answers made the slightest dent. we spoke about AZs gun laws and several of my family members looked absolutly horrified. They talked about the short lived CA open carry exercise. My aunt sain " if I walked into Starbucks and saw people with guns id walk right back out". I told her so would a robber or killer. Someone had the balls to make a smug comment about needing a gun to go to the playground. I got irritated and said I bet those parents in Connecticut wish I was at that playground with a gun. The tone was getting ugly so the conversation died off...but it really showed me that the politicians arent doing this crap on their own. We are outnumbered...and the constitution will only hold "progress" at bay for so long. They gothing this time around....

The str and acs seem to serve the same purpose with differing aesthetics. for some reason I love the way the ACS looks. Many people hate it (most likely the reason the STR was made) cant loose either way. I know magpul stocks are for noobs and KoolAid drinkers while all the real operators are using LMT and VLTOR...but they work and I like them.
