  1. Really liking your OD rifle!
  2. Titanium! Must...resist...the...power!
  3. Beautiful Duo Glide panhead! What year?
  4. My understanding from a few different sources isn't that they were undesireable due to quality but because AMF was somehow "Jap" in nature.
  5. I wouldn't say the AMF Harleys were "junk". My buddy was actually seeking them out for rebuilds, as he could demonstrate they had a higher QC under AMF than did the rides immediately prior and immediately after AMF. What? You quoted two different posts, one about the Indian name being bought and sold, with no relation to the original company (ala Armalite). Then another about AMF possibly putting together the H-D and the Armalite names together for some sort of collector set (since they were so AWESOME at using famous labels on non-related products). Maybe they can double-brand hop and add in a AMC Limited Edition Hurst Jeepster Commando to haul everything around with! Now say outloud "Potato-potato" five times real fast. Who's the knucklehead now?! <dancing banana>
  6. I have plenty. Only a couple of the S. Korean mags were fishy. The RRA-branded Thermold ROCK!!
  7. These tiny complaints don't make up for the difference in post numbers. BUT if we want to crunch numbers that way (like they mean something)... There's 2,084 posts in the LAR-8 subforum and only 57 "LAR-8 Problem" posts. Where's that dude rockin' out with the beer?!
  8. And the Armalite forum has 2,561 posts in total, compared to the DPMS forum's 7,561 post count. Just sayin. LMAO
  9. Of course. Hey! Maybe AMF will buy Armalite and they will put together some "H-D & Armalite Originals Collector Series"!
  10. That was entertaining as hell!
  11. Sure ours do...they just have an 'L' in front, LAR-8. Yours may say "Armalite" but there's a bunch of motorcycles made in the past 25 years that say "Indian" too. Doesn't make it so.
  12. And so can all you "Armalite" people. You just have to find someone willing to part with a 1950s rifle made by the Armalite Division of Fairchild Aircraft. But hey...there's always the "we paid for the right to use the name, so it's authentic" rifles available. Kinda like collecting matchbooks.
  13. Man, sorry to hear that R2. Prayers sent!
  14. Guess I missed something. Something to do with television? Haven't missed that in years since we shut it off.
  15. Yeah, that's been edited. The word "shooting" has been scrubbed, even though they are still saying "the bullet" exploded. http://www.winchester.com/Products/components/Pages/default.aspx The bullet is the projectile and exploding projectiles in 1-man portable arms are rare indeed. Hard to enforce the terminology issue, when the gun community themselves throws spittle-laced tirades such as "It isn't a CLIP! It's a magazine! So load the bullets in the magazine, with the caseings pointing backwards. Then stick them into the hole on the bottom, under your hand." Then turning the handgun and sweeping the people next to them, to show where the magazine release "mag-drop" is located.
  16. John Walsh has been a raging liberal for decades. No surprise here.
  17. "There's been a shooting at Frisco Gun Club!" "The bullet exploded when it hit the ground." "The shooting victim..." Way to be accurate media. Those exploding bullets really should have a delayed fuse, so they don't explode until they're fired. Yes, two different incidents. Here's the SWAT article: http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Irving-SWAT-Officer-Injured-at-Gun-Range-325773851.html
  18. Awesome brother!!
  19. /\/\/\/\ Rubber works like nobody's business! A visitor at our range was using strips of reinforced rubber (cut from ore conveyor belt) to suspend his still hangers. Even after being shot multiple times, they were still just as functional as day 1.
  20. Arizona also has the Pioneer license, free if you've been a resident for more than 25 years and are over 70 years old. Hunt/fish combo.
  21. Anybody have one of these? Here in Arizona they have different levels available: fish only, hunt only, combo hunt/fish, and an "benefactor" level. The benefactor is a bit more but includes lifetime trout stamps and two pole stamps. No big game stamps are included. I think I want to get the girl and myself one each. How about your states? They have anything similar?
  22. Go Baby! Go Baby! Go Baby, go!!
  23. That seems to be a pretty good "make it good" offer. Keep us posted!
  24. This dude sums it up well. Very well! It is an illness and his final words to those encouraging our responsible purchase of firearms ring true with every purchase.
