  1. Best of luck on the job! They have been getting my money for 35 years now Used to buy smithing supplies, tools, and parts with my paper route money, still have almost all of it, always been good stuff! Back then I would send questions via snail mail and they would always respond, times have changed for sure!
  2. Glad I printed a bunch off the old site. This new one leaves off powders I have, although they are not optimum powders for the cartridge you try to use what you can get these days!
  3. I haven't seen that done since I was a kid, fond memories I don't dare pass on in this political climate. :'( My Grandpa was very firm in the idea that, "Every man should know how to blow poop up." he taught me how to mix it right for digging holes and removing stumps when I was 12, mom wasn't very happy. The local druggist just looked at me funny when I would order 5 pounds of potassium permanganate >:D
  4. Maybe Sig could help him out? They have a free float rail on their new P716 with a 12 inch barrel.
  5. So by this thinking my Surefire 100 round mag will be good for 10 self defense situations, no need to reload between break-ins! B) Now defending myself from a tyrannical government on the other hand........maybe I better get another mag or two.....there playing with fire :hornet:
  6. I haven't even seen one in my area for a decade or more! Sheriff's office handles the poacher calls!
  7. Reminded me of this song; <laughs> <lmao> ^-^ ??? <dontknow>
  8. Looks like a good excuse to never clean my rifle at the range, ouch!
  9. Now if they would just keep offering the Armorers course................
  10. I can't hit a damn thing if I employ the brace as "intended", I have to twist my arm sideways to get a sight picture at all. In Iowa we are not allowed SBR,s period so the brace was a great invention for me. I finally figured out that an end plate sling adapter in the right location will prevent the brace sliding in during recoil. Of course I'd love to use a regular stock but the brace is working out fine for me especially now that I can lock in a comfortable LOP. Now to convince the wife I NEED a 308 "pistol" AR

  12. You work for the government to? <lmao> ...well maybe it isn't really that funny.......
  13. :hornet:
  14. The suit looks like a great idea but....what I hear from relatives returning home from Afghanistan we need more work on the basics like air support and fire support before we send our money off into sci-fi land. The support they received was great, problem was it was seldom available exactly when they needed it and that cost lives.
  15. Here is a couple good clips of Marcus telling the real deal from his viewpoint; http://www.c-span.org/video/?305889-1/book-discussion-service-navy-seal-war http://www.c-span.org/video/?204213-10/book-discussion-lone-survivor Another with Marcus and a fellow soldier from the 101st; http://www.c-span.org/video/?202083-1/afghanistan-forgotten-war here is a page with links to the videos as well; http://www.c-span.org/person/?marcusluttrell
  16. A couple years ago the little town of Storm Lake, Iowa, a town of maybe 10,000 people, received two up-armored Humvee's through a federal grant program. They have virtually no violent crime and never have, the only thing there is a Tyson pork plant. There are some fairly active "gun clubs" ::) , militias are against the Iowa constitution. Makes you wonder what they are thinking.............
  17. Summer of 1984 I helped teach a group of Arab looking guys how to shoot stinger missiles in Ft. Stewart Ga. Charlie Wilson didn't get his plan to hand out stingers to the Mujaheddin past congress till 1986. Not a word of it was mentioned when the topic came up in the Iran/Contra hearings, go figure <dontknow> I'm probably not supposed to mention it but then........the liars can bite me!
  18. http://www.surefire.com/mag5-100.html I hadn't seen them till I started looking for a 60. When I saw them on the website I checked out the reviews and decided to go for it, it was only $20 more than the 60.
  19. Got my Surefire 100 round mag today. It only cost me a $1.29 a round with shipping. Not sure why I needed it but I did! :D
  20. Same thing as me brothers, same thing as me.........there's gonna be fight :enguard:
  21. Boy Americas gun laws make sense <lmao> You can't have an AR pistol in Maryland but own an SBR, I can have all the AR pistols I want in Iowa but can't own a SBR :rant2:
  22. Likes, reliability first. It has never missed a beat. Accuracy is right at the top of the like list as well. Dislikes.... maybe all the proprietary parts, can't really blame ArmaLite but it would be nice to have more of a standard spec like the AR-15
  23. Went to a gun show in Verona Mississippi this morning and got to handle a Sig P716 pistol. It had one of their "stabilizing braces" and a 12 inch barrel. If I could buy pistols in Mississippi I would have drained the checking account! here is a link with pictures of one for sale; http://www.gunsamerica.com/902026426/SIG_SAUER_716_308_P716_12B_PSB_BLACK_7_62_PISTOL_W_STABILIZING_BRACE_12_BARREL_NOT_A_SBR_NEW_FOR_201.htm The one at the show was a bit cheaper. Sig sure keeps these AR pistols on the down low when they introduce them!
  24. Watched Lone Survivor last night. I've listened to and read Marcus's story several times since it went public, the first half of the movie followed it very well. They got a little off track in the last half for some reason, the real story seemed just as exciting to me. Maybe Wahlberg didn't want to go pant-less <dontknow> Regardless it was an inspiring movie. First time I've actually shed a tear over a movie, those real life pictures of the men involved that they showed at the end got me. They did us proud!
  25. I'd be nervous about paying for an item that will not arrive till after the ebay buyer protection period is past. Technically it is against ebay rules to sell something you do not have......... I wonder what kind of time frame there is if you just order direct from the company website?
