  1. God bless our Brothers in blue!
  2. My SDN6 puked on S&B 300 BO 200 gr subsonnic. A few months ago my LGS showed me a chunk of jacket they claimed had come from this ammo and asked if I had had any issues, hadn't seen anything at that point. Today I got to learn two lessons, use the best quality ammo you can with a suppressor, somehow I escaped any damage on this one but is 20 cents a round worth the chance???? Now I knew but ignored the method of always have the muzzle facing down when manipulating the weapon. Didn't mention that to my Grandson and when he racked it a pile of jacket scraps came out of the suppressor and poured down the barrel. The amount leads me to believe there has been a few jacket seperations of late. Shook everything out inspected and fired another 30 rounds of Remington 220gr no issues. Dug some out of the MBT when I got home, Here is the ammo with lot stamp, I spent at least 15 minutes with a pen light inspecting what I could inside the SDN6, all I see is a couple chunks of copper still lodged at the first baffle but the hole down the middle just shows an odd looking pattern of carbon buildup, no sign of anything being hit, not sure how that happens but that first baffle must be a tough bitch.
  3. Our local Walmart has had 60 round boxes of Remington 220 grain subsonics for about $35, S&B are the only ones I have seen compete with that.
  4. Another breakfast beer, Blueberry Frosted Pastry DIPA with Blueberries, cinnamon , and allspice from Decadent Ales, brewed and canned by Dorchester Brewing Co. Boston Mass. for Decadent Ales and distributed by 12%. Blueberry muffins is what I smell. Flavor starts the same with a sweet but sour blueberry and caramel maple hint. It has a beer flavor, a malty, hoppy base but the additions rule here. The bitter in the middle has a cinnamon note but it finishes with allspice. This one I like, I would like to taste the base beer before all the additions, it has to be good.
  5. I saw that can at the local beer pusher, reasonable cost if I remember right. I will be grabbing one for sure
  6. Called, nice people, several return options but I don't have the info I need and don't really feel like messing with it. Bought it from Primary Arms and my order info there just shows item no longer available. I imagine I will just find someone that can use it as is, lots of grandkids wanting builds In the meantime I scored a Nordic Comp 10.5 inch at CDNN. Edit; They sent me a prepaid postage printout and said get ahold of them if I have any problems. Barrel is on the way back now.
  7. Give a little more info on the intended uses of the rifle, just as important as how far the shot might be is how far the carry might be. I have a real heavy 20 inch build that is accurate but I don't even like carrying to the bench, got the barrel cheap because it was too heavy for their hunting needs. These things can turn into real beasts by the time you get optics on them.
  8. 16 inch barrel will do fine for you at that range.
  9. Got the Wife's 300 BO back from paint and started putting it together, hit a snag with the under $50 Bear Creek barrel. It will not allow a suppressor to pass the alignment gauge test, Tried three different AAC QD devices, on and off a couple times with different shims, even no shim. Last try balled up the shim. Hits the baffle no matter what so shopping for another 10.5 inch and not focusing on the money so much........... Wife has bad hands from Rheumatoid Arthritis so she wanted larger controls for mag release and bolt catch. Loving the Aero ambi bolt catch. I am liking the layout of the Knights ambi mag release, easy manipulation but still with some stiffness so hopefully we don't end up with mags dropping lose from bumps. It also allows you to get to the trigger pins Cerakote was only a tad over $200, I think he did a good job with all the smaller parts. Couldn't make it work on the Midwest handguard covers, made them black but then the stencils would not stick enough to get it to match the lines on the rifle. Now to get a matching sling from Brother Jacob, and of course a barrel.................
  10. Trying to resist investigating whether my Tirant 45 would silence that.........and I do have a spare receiver set, fuq.
  11. Congrats Sir!
  12. If I were going to work on triggers, hone sears and such I would, hell I know there is one at Dad's somewhere, at least it was there in the 70's. I don't get hung up on the weight, only care that it feels good, kinda like women.
  13. Welcome from Iowa, via Missouri!
  14. This site will give you a better idea in real time; https://www.nfatracker.com/ It was a little behind the curve when I bought mine but that was right before the trust rule changes so the volume was real heavy then. I remember Silencer Shop saying the new system they gave the atf was going to cut wait time to 3 months.....still waiting to see that!
  15. Sounded close enough to me I rolled with it. The elite line has a Blackout with what they call eggshell finish, looks interesting; https://www.cerakote.com/finishes/E-100Q/blackout/
  16. Got the email on pre-orders today, damn tempting. I was kinda hoping for a gold series 3x18 though; https://www.primaryarms.com/MCategories+Primary-Arms-Optics-Gold-Series?trk_msg=7DG0OVDCDNM4T6HA2OJCI1BPPS&trk_contact=CCM1L42B6H11OTO9IV10FHBVDG&trk_sid=6I9J07RO2RAQ784I6QPJ63OJ7S&utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=BANNER_7&utm_campaign=19_06_Ad31_GLX_Announcement
  17. When done properly Cerakote is some tough stuff. I don’t know the actual scientific numbers to compare but I have seen a limestone rock get cracked in half and it just left a white dust on the weapon that wiped right off, couldn’t pick the spot out after. I would have no concerns either way you go, been thinking about that carbon black myself, I like that deep black look.
  18. Prayers for you Brother. I can relate to the stress of all the testing and not knowing what’s next. I have come to embrace the pain, it’s a sure sign I’m alive.
  19. Love Galaxy hops, I will keep my eyes out for that one 👍
  20. Still have the trigger in the jig, been swapping things and adjusting, just outstanding. I found these videos from Geissele very informative, some info in them that isn't in the written directions and those things are gold as is. Sorry the vids are out of order but youtube didn't seem to want to load up any of them here so I'm stopping with this.
  21. Nice! That scope weighs a bit but is more compact than most in the class, you will have options when it comes to holdover or dial in, makes quick follow up a breeze. Watch the clarity of the glass, buddy bought his second one and you could see a marked difference in clarity between them. The second was not bad just not near as crisp as his first. He contacted Bushnell and they exchanged it. Without that first one to compare he may have just settled for it.
  22. Talked myself into it as well......I do have a couple spare carbine barrels in the parts drawers that have been looking lonely.
  23. Another breakfast beer, Bacon French Toast IPA with maple syrup, d sugar, and bacon from Decadent Ales, brewed and canned by Dorchester Brewing Co. Boston Mass. for Decadent Ales and distributed by 12%. Smells like breakfast, maple with a hint of toast and hints of citrus. Big maple flavor up front, very sweet. There is some hoppy citrus and malt in the background but very subdued. Finishes with a smoky burnt sugar flavor for the bitter, I assume this is the bacon they refer to. It's not a terrible beer but falls well short of their other breakfast beers, can't say I would recommend it.
  24. Surely you bought the $34.99 each stripped uppers to go with them?
