  1. Went back to have a conversation, not what I expected at all in response, he did ask me if I was recording. A half hour rant about what party has screwed up the country, about Waco and Ruby ridge being the fbi's fault( he brought that up out of the blue not me) how the regulatory branch has pissed everyone off, how he and his buddies are never coming to take anyone's guns no matter what, they just want to chase gang bangers. We agreed on about everything till I got to the nfa, for some reason he thinks it's important, got to go back before they leave so I can introduce myself to the rest, I'm a guy who's fought his whole life to have your job abolished, and we're gaining steam. ..... dam it, he just lured me onto the domestic terrorist list with that discussion............ They told me it looks like Brad tiptoed over the line a bit but he thought they would be able to open back up this afternoon. 14 agents, 12 cars and trucks, three cars from Arizona and one from Texas, didn't look like rentals either as there was tons of stuff in them. I'm also a little surprised they were not more concerned about someone inspecting their cars?
  2. Just left BW Outfitters in Denison, a perennial top ten seller on Gunbroker, An atf agent met me at the door and told me they were closed for the day, parking lot was full of cars though. Very unusual as they have never been closed for them before. Owner is a very LIBERTY minded person, I hope they don't get all his money.
  3. With the SDN-6? Have I been ignorant of a muzzle device option for my SDN-6s since AAC stopped making 51T's?
  4. Coming out is a way bigger pain than the round springs as well but worth the extra oomph in my book. Always liked the idea of being able to stick the spring in any recoil system I want, tend to only use it in the short tubes since the gold standard Armalite spring covers the other two lengths and comes in almost a fifth the price most times.

  7. I just can't resist good surplus parts, maybe a truck gun in the works.
  8. That's good and stout, if I can get the gas tube to pass at 35- 40 ftlbs I'm happy unless I would happen to have a special part that told me different, I start getting nervous when I see 55 ftlbs.
  9. I remember a guy getting run over by a tank in his sleeping bag, another guy was on the wrong end of the 50, dangerous work even practicing.

  11. Slower but easier on the hands for me, no grandkids in that reloader helper age group right now, too young or too busy. If speed is what your looking for many of the progressive presses can be set up with a swagger and trimmer, I've been contemplating some of that gear lately, bunch more zeros behind that price to experiment though
  12. I like the swage method, brass in place so seems like you should get a little more mileage from the primer pocket. Here is one version, I have the RCBS version and it works fine. https://palmettostatearmory.com/hornady-lock-n-load-ap-primer-pocket-swage-tool-041217.html

  14. 100 yard zero but I love to dump a mag on something close. Aimpoint PRO and a Vortex 3x
  15. So it's not just me, these last few years it seems like they leak in a week. Is there a reasonable price alkaline that doesn't leak or die right away now? I'm back to ray-o-vac the last bulk purchase a year ago, no leaks so far.........
  16. ^^^That's it, learn to use what you have to your best ability. Most of it is sight picture, once you know the correct sight picture, blurry or not your gonna hit. We give concealed carry permits to blind people.
  17. These large frames like to be really wet at the start, like dripping on you making a mess wet. Of course keep it out of the chamber area best you can. Once broke in I get by with minimal lube but I always make it wet first, some interesting pictures around here to show how wet we mean........ That said at 200 rounds your hitting a point that break in is less likely the issue. For me I use Armalite parts as a go to for known reliability, there's plenty of others that's just what I use when troubleshooting cause I know they work and I have a pile. It shouldn't be a buffer weight issue, or gas issue unless you acquired a healthy leak somewhere. My Sig P716 hands out jams that look like that on a regular basis, it uses a flat wire spring and an H2 buffer if I remember correctly, I really need to change that out and see if that fixes it, Sig hasn't been able to after a couple tries, new double ejector they added MIGHT have cut down on a jams.... a little, maybe.
  18. I've had pretty good luck with mine, cleaned up that 1,000 round plus mess I had on a 300BO BCG, only some minor scraping on the tail and corners inside the carrier. I use dishwasher soap and jet dry along with the heat. That combination did take some of the finish off the aluminum baffles in my Tirant when I left them in too long. Got something on your mind?
  19. I toured an American sub of the periiod in Mobile, AL, gave me the creeps being in it with the hatches open and on dry land, no chance would I have ever been a submariner!

  21. Before long you'll have to put gym mats down so nobody hurts themselves. The chin strap schit is funny, my argument was always the first thing that happens when a flagger gets hit is the hard hat comes off....looks like they fixed that schit, now it can really wrench your neck good when you forget to take it off getting in the truck.
  22. I had hard hat jobs most my life but avoided actually wearing one a good amount of the time. I always saw them as a political symbol but never heard of that riot, sounded like another day in NYC from my relatives stories of that place in those days. I see them as an example of government overreach, I can decide when I'm in a situation I should wear one....... always felt like an arse making the flaggers wear a hard hat, wouldn't want a bird schit injury.
  23. My AR-10 would always function with those fat 180 grain soft points but but inspect a live round after chambering and the gashes in the lead made it clear why it isn't optimal to use SP's.
