  1. We have spent many years trout fishing in northern new mexico and a few years ago the state cut back on campgrounds and stocking programs (don't get me wrong I like going after the natives but I am not good enough to get enough of them to eat) so we went up to the South Fork and Creede area. It was very nice with excellent fishing and it was to be our new summer fishing destination, but with what they are doing in Co. I have decided to go back south and give the Red River area a try.
  2. Sounds like good advice, I don't have a scope or reamer so the first thing I did was clean it well then just looked at the chamber with a good flashlight and I could see the machining marks from the reamer, took the barrel out and polished with very fine paper on a wood dowel, I think it was 600 then 1000, but it did not take much to fix it.
  3. That tactical olive drab looks like a very close match, that is what I will try, thank's for the pic Robo.
  4. I want to try to match my forend to my magpul grip and P.R.S. both are O.D. green, I see that Duracoat offers a "magpul O.D.", has anyone here used it? I am curious about how well it matches magpuls color. Should I use flat clear over whatever color I end up using? I would think that using clear over it would make it more durable.
  5. I got about 50 or 60 damaged CBC's from my LGS, a case broke open and they got damaged by the pallet jack wheels and they were going to throw them in the dumpster. I pulled them down, sized w/out the decap rod, weighed the total powder and divided it out evenly, reseated, crimped some still had dents but firing took care of those. I will check to see how much they stretched. Just send me your CBC ammo and I will test it for you :)) :auto:
  6. If it is the claw that pulls the case out of the chamber, it actually doesn't pull it out in all firearm types but you understand what I am talking about, then that is the extractor. Is it breaking the rim on the way in because it can't snap over the rim or is it ripping the rim off on the way out?. I had one ripping the rim off due to a rough chamber, it was not a RRA but have read about DPMS having that problem. The ejector is the small round spring loaded plunger opposite the extractor.
  7. Check this out, http://www.brewracingframes.com/id75.htm concerning the dangers of phosgene gas.
  8. Cool! That's even better doesn't sound like I can go wrong for 118.50! Thank's Robo.
  9. Thank's for the quick replies, will go get it in the am, how is that price? It seems good, am looking on the net now.
  10. So my existing buffer tube will work?
  11. What is required to get the job done as far as parts go? I am using a A2 stock right now. My LGS has a o.d. green ar-10/sr-25 magpul PRS new in box marked $237 on sale for 50% off, but I am unfamiliar with it and want to make sure it will work on my rifle.
  12. First of all she has lost her fucking mind and second there is no way he should be allowed to be buried next to our true heroes.
  13. I have had no problem with tumbling live ammo, I think it was on the accurate reloading forum that a friend showed me a thread about this where they tumbled different types of ammo with different types of powder for different lengths of time with no ill effects.
  14. Haul out more than we brought has always been the way we do it when camping in the national forest or at a public or private range, there used to be gravel pits all around hobbs where my dad lives that you could shoot in but the locals (not myself) left truckloads of junk behind so all the ones I knew of got locked up, we have no public ranges here.
  15. My weedeater! That thing was the heaviest thing I ever used, and the head would suck the line back in every few minutes, so one Saturday I woke up and my back wasn't hurting so I decided to just be lazy and enjoy laying in bed for awhile, then the wife comes in and starts in about the weedeating that I didn't do the afternoon before. After arguing a bit I went out and got it gassed up, and wound with brand new line, I used it for a total of about 5 minutes and had to restring it 3 times, I then proceded to try and insult it with profanity, grabbed it by the business end and slung it as far as possible, and not so calmly went in the shop with it laying out there running. I stayed in there for probably 15-20 minutes before I had to go over to the house to get something to drink, and there it was still running, laughing at me! I calmly went inside, got a glass of iced tea, opened the safe, got out the ar-15 and a 30 rounder went out and blew it to pieces igniting the full tank of super unleaded, I emptied the mag and let it burn itself out. Later I got out my 19 year old homelite that had not run in 3 years, didn't even put fresh gas in it and it started in 3 pulls! My wife was so mad she was in tears, she should have just let me be lazy.
  16. Damn planeflyer! I just threw up in my mouth!
  17. I looked for varget, 4895 and 4198 the other day in College Station and got laughed at!
  18. The wife made goulash (spelling?), it was shite, had ice cream and pork rinds out in the shop.
  19. I asked last night, I got shot down. <dontknow>
  20. You got that right! Free enterprise works well until greed gets the best of people.
  21. Welcome, I'm not too far away, definitely going to make it to the meetings in may.
  22. Where did you find paper that fine? Would like to get some for my balls.
  23. I stopped at a store in Hobbs and he wanted $45 for 50 rounds of 9mm speer lawman ammo, I told him I didn't need it that bad.
  24. I do it every chance I get, hell I might just do it right now!
  25. I don't think they are in season, but will have to check for the big jims for making chile rellenos!
